Catholics and Mormons have the SAME problem

No, Ryan, Catholics are not in the same boat as you. You made yourself the final authority. If Scripture says “those who do such things [mortal sins] will not inherit the kingdom of God” and Ryan says they will, you are bound to follow Ryan’s personal interpretation otherwise you are going to hell according to him. Catholics on the other hand, follow the model that the Apostles and early Christians followed to settle disputes as seen in Acts 15: a living Magisterium *established by Christ,* capable of clarifying through the Holy Spirit, which teachings are in line with God’s revelation. The reason you think an Apostolic model has problems is because you instead want your personal interpretation to be the final say. But that role was clearly given to the Church by Christ: “if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.” (Matt 18:17) It is the Church’s role to preserve the Truth, not the role of individuals like Ryan: “if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.” (1 Tim 3:15)

I’m non denominational but the Mormons and Catholics ask a good question often as a rebuttal, one I haven’t seen a good answer for by Protestants: Where did Jesus or His apostles say that the 66 books of the Bible are the final authority?

You do the EXACT same thing, only your institution is your individual denominational church or even a single pastor - which, with a smaller sampling size makes you WAY more prone to misinterpretation, error, and heresy as evedinced by the sheer number of Protestant sects.

This is sophomoric. Just following the Bible collapses when readers lack original autographs, don't speak biblical languages, and rely on translations. Instead, they follow novel, isolated interpretations of post-Enlightenment thinkers who constantly pit one text against another.

The holy Orthodox Church is the last option for the one true church.

Protestants and Mormons have the SAME objectively false historical claims

You are not the sharpest. Al Protestants have so many interpretations

Jesus founded the Catholic Church. Mormons are similar to Islam
