That’s categorically false. We do pray to saints in heaven as that’s not only a Jewish practice debated in Jewish literature but also someone that’s in perfect harmony with Scripture since Paul says every member of the body is an intercessor for all men. Paul likewise says to seek such intercession. John notes that such intercession occurs in heaven where believers both know and bring our prayers before Christ. In scripture there is only one sense of prayer reserved for God, that’s proseuchomai. The other senses are not and are directed to be both believers and God alike.
