Water companies too. They think it’s more cost effective to pay the occasional fine than invest in systems & asset maintenance to prevent it. Some don’t even bother to capture when they are polluting, anymore. Neoliberal capitalism made them financial entities & nothing more.

@MarcusEliot I reported a lot over the years on fantastic people - engineers, scientists, project managers, etc - cleaning up our coast by improving water infrastructure. I weep for the pride they had in making the world better, now that others decided to undo all their endeavour.
