Caught evangelical antip**n group Exodus Cry filming a scripted protest outside an empty Supreme Court while we were in between actual meetings with legislators. Your anti-trafficking dollars at work.

Protect Children not Porn....is this not the parents job or the primary care giver. It bugs me that porn and sex workers get the blame.

Maybe if they actually looked after their kids instead of organizing bullshit protests we wouldn't need age verification laws. We don't now. People need to raise their own damn kids.

Like the plot to a dystopian movie, New York will now monitor social media writings, collect data, and use law enforcement to crack down on any expression it deems to be hate speech.

In a landmark 297-page judgment delivered on May 29, 2026, the Supreme Court of India recognized victims of commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking as having a constitutional right to rehabilitation under Articles 21 and 23. The judgment comes 22 years after Prajwala, the anti-trafficking organisation co-founded by Sunitha Krishnan, filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in 2004 seeking stronger protections, accountability, and rehabilitation mechanisms for victims of sex trafficking. This historic ruling introduces India's first-ever Victim Protection Plan with statutory powers, mandates Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTUs) to function as police stations, and places victims at the centre of rescue, rehabilitation, and protection efforts. In this discussion, Uma Sudhir speaks with: • Sunitha Krishnan(sunitha krishnan) – Anti-trafficking Activist & Co-founder, Prajwala • Aparna Bhat – Supreme Court Lawyer Key topics discussed: • Why this is being called a landmark judgment • The 22-year legal journey behind the PIL • The distinction between trafficking and voluntary sex work • India's first Victim Protection Plan • Rehabilitation as a constitutional right • The role of magistrates, police, and social workers • Why some media reports have misrepresented the judgment • The Supreme Court's directions to governments and agencies • The implementation timeline and September 2026 compliance review An important point: this judgment is not about legalising sex work. It is focused on the rights, protection, rehabilitation, and dignity of victims of sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Subscribe to DeKoder for more in-depth conversations. Anti-ICE – GardaWorld Protest in Montreal Today I took part in the anti-ICE protest in Montreal and got a taste of tear gas as the Montreal riot police dispersed the crowd. A few snowballs thrown in their direction triggered a heavy handed response. Outside Guarda World HQ they deployed chemical irritants, beat their shields and charged at the crowd on several occasions while people were leaving. Apparently, protecting ICE collaborators is more important than free speech. We gathered outside GardaWorld HQ to denounce the contracts they have with ICE and the Trump administration. ICE is rounding up, detaining, killing, and brutalizing immigrants and American citizens without oversight, restraint or the sligtest reguard for human rights. GardaWorld is offering support services and staffing the notorious “Alligator Alcatraz” prison. To make matters worse, GardaWorld is receiving subsidies from the Quebec government. This is happening while our public services are being gutted, while public transit is being cut, while people are struggling just to pay rent and buy food. Canadian corporations should not be complicit in Trump’s anti-immigrant hit squad, which has already claimed the lives of so many innocent people. At a time when several Quebec political parties are turning up the anti-immigrant rhetoric and idolizing Trump, we must stay vigilant that Quebec does not follow the path of the United States. The Green Party of Quebec stands in opposition to GardaWorld’s affiliation with ICE, against our paycheques subsidizing their operations, against Trump’s fascistic anti-immigrant crusade, and against the anti-immigrant toxicity that is becoming more and more present in our politics. The attached video is my account of what took place. The police response was heavy handed and while being pushed back from Guarda World HQ the riot police stopped people from leaving the group, even preventing people from taking a bus away from the sene just minutes before we were charged at by a separate group of riot police. I condemn the Montreal Police's actions at this protest. Alex Tyrrell Leader of the Green Party of Quebec
