I literally saw a sign that said 45 miles an hour and right after that a yellow sign indicating that deer are present. Just glad he hit the deer and not a little kid or somebody’s pet playing in the road.

Not rider's fault. There were no yellow deer crossing signs so a careful driver like him could be on the lookout for those illegally jay-walking deer!

That's why I stopped riding years ago. A deer, loose dog or even a groundhog could screw your whole day up.

Speeding 85 on a back road? Zero sympathy. I rode over 55 years I would never speed through neighborhoods and back roads like that. At 45 he probably would have seen the deer enter the road.
