Zack - sounds like you’re in favor of the owners proposal during the 1994 strike: salary cap, salary floor and free agency after four years. Players union said no. Took us 32 years but we’ve come full circle.

Zach appreciate the honesty. As a fan this is very helpful. We want a floor that means the players we love stick around too. We hope everyone makes money. As fans, we just want our small market teams to be able to compete more effectively. Its really that simple.

I would invite the owners who are “struggling to break even” or claim they are losing money to sell their teams: 1) There are buyers out there 2) They will make a killing 3) They won’t have to worry about losing money ever again Weird they don’t sell…

Average NFL career is 3.3 years and average MLB career is 5.6. So you’re wrong about that. The difference is baseball players don’t get paid until they’re 28ish. At that point they don’t have much of a career left. Thats why they’re more conservative.

Zach, while I appreciate your sharing & perspective, I disagree with caving on salary cap! I got 1 chance to play every day, w/Angels, won job, then got traded as PTBNL! Never got chance to prove myself again as starter. But supported & went through every strike. Up & down after!

It was the strongest union. Fans want parity and are willing to wait for it.

Yeah it just doesnt seem right that some of these guys come up have great productive rookie and sophomore years winning awards and making league minimum even the following 2 years and by the time they are 30 , in FA , their numbers are down and they dont get much of an offer

As long as it ends with a hard cap the lockout will be worth it as a Reds fan

The cap is not important. It’s all about the team control and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the players union to get major concessions from the owners.

You want to be paid like a big dawg you gotta play like one you want free money you were blessed to play a child game and make more than 99% of the population. You should of invested some of that correctly

I think that’s the goal to pay players more and also to make the league more competitive Manipulating service time is also a problem 😂 My question Zack, do you think some sort of superstar max contract should be in place? Similar to the NBA, 60 mil a year for 5 yrs?
