Next she says "But we also heard Poilievre doubling down on the need to axe the consumer carbon tax, even though no Liberal leadership candidate supports it going forward." Mark Carney liked the deal and was ready to accept it, but Doug Ford refused to put US alcohol back on the shelves as long as there is tariffs on vehicles. Why? Kate Harrison says Carney's "going to lose that crutch of the opposition being obstinate with a majority government and the government is going to come under some real scrutiny for the first time in a very long time about what they are delivering, or more appropriately not for Canadians, when they no longer can point to Pierre Poilievre and say that he's the problem because of the minority government." And he is losing an excuse not to fulfill all of his election promises!
