Difference is mookie hits wherever he plays. If ceddane isn’t playing platinum glove defense in center he’s probably not worth keeping in the lineup over Mayer or even Hamilton given what he gives you with the bat

Thing is, Rafaela is a 9th Hitter, his most reliable skill is his plat glove at CF, if you move him out of there, what does he give you over someone with more upside with the bat like Mayer that can 100% give you a gold glove 2B?

If it was for someone like Tucker, then yeah, move any of Duran/Abreu/Rafaela out of the OF, but move Rafaela to 2B just to keep Duran in the lineup, while benching Mayer who can be a more impact bat than Rafaela give that he doesn't fucking chase at a 42%, i just don't get it

Let's move the best defensive CF in the game to 2B. Great idea! I'm sure that won't impact his offense, either...

So, you didn’t want Alonso because he wasn’t good defensively. But, his 40 home runs would’ve made up for it. But, Contreras is a good pick up because he is “average” defensively and would be lucky if he hits 20 homers. Got it! This team is a last place team

But Mookie is a great hitter. Ceddanne essentially has no value if you move him off center, you are better off playing Hamilton and Gonzalez there. Jumbling everything up to accommodate Duran is what a bad team does

You lose elite CF defense if you move him to 2nd. That experiment was already tried.

I know 2b isn’t the same as short stop. However he was the top 3 worst defensive short stops in baseball in 24. He was a top 5 defender in all of baseball in 25. No way you move him

I have been saying something similar for a year a half. But this is my thought you have a story for two more years and Ceddane for several. Make story your 2B and your SS is Ceddane for the next 5 years. All obvious that Duran is much better CF that LF. This solves a lot.

Ceddanne Rafaela cannot hit like Mookie Betts.

I’d rather just dump Yoshida and put Duran at DH if they can’t unload Jarren. Rafaela is literally the best defensive CF in baseball. Why on earth would you mess with that to keep Yoshida on the roster?

If one of us floated this idea you would’ve ripped us to shreds…Move CF gold glover Ceddanne to 2B and move disaster LF Durran to CF. How Durran has not been traded yet is telling. Either Breslow is inept or no other GM values Durran. Both are obviously true btw.

I am not fond of him anywhere other than CF, but I have been saying this for almost 2 months. This is how this FO works. They love having control years out there on the field. Piece of cake. Duran and Abreu are not going anywhere.
