How did this one become a fellow? This idiot with no economic mind has been graduated to be a senior fellow in economic affairs. Someone who criticizes but has no strategy in helping the cedi appreciate and stabilise. He is just like the criminal @MBawumia and these are the people we have in our space. When others are working tirelessly to stabilise the cedi appreciating, this fool just like the NPP he-mice go about spitting rubbish

Ghc3.5 - Ghc5 to a dollar will be the new range by December. It's his word against mine. For all who care to know, it's a serious of deliberate efforts to normalize our currency's trajectory. Other anchors will be set in motion to really anchor the Cedi in the coming months.

Why don't they see this as a recovery from our 2022 financial crisis but rather accept that the dollar at 16 is normal and not at 9. The dollar is rather experiencing a relapse against the cedi!!

The Ghana Cedi has demonstrated exceptional resilience and strength in recent months: 1. As at the end of June 2025, the Cedi appreciated by 42.6% against the US Dollar, 30.3% against the British Pound, and 25.6% against the Euro. 2. This is a significant reversal compared to same period in 2024 when the Cedi depreciated by 18.6%, 17.9%, and 16.0%, respectively. 3. So far, we have almost reversed all the Cedi depreciation in 2022, 2023 and 2024. 4. It is the first time that this level appreciation has been recorded in the 60-year history of the Ghana Cedi.

It’s all cosmetics—Now that the IMF has warned them not to pump money from the Bank of Ghana into the economy, we will see the real value of the cedi to the dollar” -Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has criticized the NDC government for operating a "cosmetic economy," claiming they used 10 billion from the Bank of Ghana to prop up the cedi and deceive the public. He further stated that with the recent warning not to continue this practice, Ghanaians will soon witness the true value of the dollar in relation to the cedi this year.

Our strong commitment to fiscal discipline, has contributed to the strengthening of the currency. We remain committed, and we shall stay the course to ensure that the Cedi’s gains are maintained. As citizens, we have a role to play. We must maintain the sanctity of the Cedi as a legal tender, by preserving it with dignity and protecting it jealously. Let me use this opportunity to remind Ghanaians that the US dollar is not our currency. The continuous pricing of goods and services in US dollar will only hurt us. Let’s stop it!
