it's Amazon: $717B in annual revenue. roughly $2B a day. $500M overspend for them is basically what a surprise traffic ticket feels like for a regular person.

These AI companies could easily add a default limit, but noooooo.... they want you to go above and beyond the no limits. After all, they need your money.

at that point you don’t even panic, you just slowly close the laptop and go make a cup of tea. that’s a problem for the next life.

Don’t have money for raises but this bill will get paid.

Blame feels easy after a $500M mistake, but it’s usually the wrong target. This isn’t one person forgetting a setting it’s a broken control system: no guardrails, no alerts, no real ownership of risk. Real question isn’t “who messed up?” It’s “why wasn’t this impossible in the first place?”

Claude spent $500M and still asked “would you like me to continue?”

He must not cry—he should sue the company based on production analysis. 🧐

That’s why @NextGPU is introducing one time purchase for AI workflows. Private AI where you can run any model on your system locally without the worry of spending millions of dollar accidentally and let’s not forget the idle GPU sharing for rewards

the funny part is this is exactly how enterprise AI breaks. not because the model is bad, but because usage goes from “employee productivity tool” to “unmetered compute faucet.” tokens become a new cloud bill. this is the main argument on why all the companies who rely on AI are failing.

CEO after seeing the Claude bill: 😱 Meanwhile the intern who turned on ‘auto-debug with Claude Code’ 24/7: ‘It was just helping me be more productive bro’ Lesson of 2026: Unlimited AI = unlimited damage. Set budgets + alerts Day 1 or become this guy
