Watches, rings, AI glasses, medical devices, all use their chips because they are best at running neural networks at very low power. I've been touring the suites all morning, getting a look at augmented reality AI glasses. It's quite clear that the Pickle glasses are not possible with today's technology, and I'll have a video up someday soon about that with several different vendors. So agree with others that it is selling something that isn’t currently possible to manufacture. I got a look at the latest state-of-the-art technologies that go into the glasses, and this is the first part of that. This gives you a lot of insights into the future.

I don't worry about the actual firmware stack. I would want every country to be using American chips so that the programmers there are held at bay by our technology. The Chinese are actually trying to develop this on their own. They are beating us in developing a larger electrical grid in China very quickly, because they don't have any permitting problems. And the other area that people have been talking about directly concerning these chips is they have much more compute power. They're building data centers at a rate that's four times ours. We have more data centers, but they're catching up very quickly.

These are the Rokid Glasses A pair of smart glasses very similar to the Meta RayBan but powered by the AR1, with the addition of a Monochrome binocular Waveguide display for Live translation, Ai recognition, teleprompter, navigation and more. Plus like the RayBan camera and audio. The live translation was surprisingly good, and fast. They are already available in China. Hopefully we will get them in the US soon! They are just 49 grams! It's crazy to see how the smart glasses are evolving fast. #CES2025 #rokid The last video is from their Air Max 2 6DoF version, for AR at the museum!

$META delaying the launch of Ray-Ban Display smart glasses in Europe due to higher-than-expected demand in the US is great news. The numbers are still irrelevant, but Zuck’s vision — where the ~2 billion people who already wear glasses every day eventually switch to smart glasses — is slowly starting to gain traction. A world where smart glasses become the default device for many isn’t that far away. And for now, META is years ahead of its closest competitor. All $META needs to do is successfully integrate these smart glasses with a frontier AI model.
