CGI was different in 2000s.

simple: people were hired on merit and skill, not on the woke oppression olympics

Its all about the artists working on the project.

Back then we still used a lot of make up and animatronics and just used CGI to enhance special effects. Now they use CGI to fully replace special effects. So it looks weird.

Probably so people don’t look at nasa like it’s fake. If cgi in movies stays even with nasas cgi, some folks might catch on
