The largest IPO in history is also shaping up to be the largest exit liquidity operation in history SpaceX went public at more than 90x revenue, and the insiders who bought in at a fraction of today's price are about to start selling their shares to you. Let me walk you through why this IPO is built to separate retail investors from their money: SpaceX has NEVER turned a profit and lost close to $5 billion last year. At the offering you were paying more than 90x revenue and at the peak the market briefly valued it near 140x. 30 years ago the head of Sun Microsystems explained in detail why paying even 10x revenue almost always ends in tears, and he was right. But listen closely, because the valuation is not even the real story. The scarcity is what CREATED this valuation in the first place, and the calendar that kills the scarcity is what kills the price. Less than 5% of SpaceX shares were actually available to trade at the IPO. Then the index committees REWROTE their own rules to fast track the stock into the Nasdaq 100 just 15 trading days after listing, which forced every passive fund and index ETF in the country to buy at the exact moment the float was at its tightest. The Nasdaq inclusion alone forced an estimated $4.3 billion of buying, and the Russell reweighting added roughly $3 billion more. The supply was minuscule and the buying was mandatory. That's a manufactured squeeze, and it is why the stock went above $225 in its first week. Now watch what happens next, because this is the part they ain't explaining to you: The lockup was staggered on purpose, and the entire schedule is sitting in the prospectus for anyone who bothers to read it. In early August, right after Q2 earnings, 20% of the locked shares come free. Another 10% unlocks early if the stock trades 30% above the $135 IPO price going into the report. And on June 12, 2027 comes the final wave, when Musk's own 6.4 billion shares, 42% of the whole company, become sellable for the first time. Add it all up and insiders could be free to sell as much as 44% of the company by early September, which would balloon the tradable float by roughly 900%. All of that supply lands on a stock the company deliberately packed with retail, because SpaceX reserved close to 30% of the offering for individual investors vs the usual 10%. This deal created over 4,400 paper millionaires inside the company. You think none of them are looking to cash out? Early holders are already loading up on puts to lock in what they have. First they keep the float tiny. Then they let the index rules force the world to buy at the top. Then they release a flood of insider stock into a crowd of retail buyers who were handed the shares up high. When the price finally breaks the offering level, the people who got in years ago at pennies on today's dollar will hit the bid, and the exit liquidity is your retirement account. 140 of the biggest financial firms on Earth just teamed up to assassinate ONE company. The same company they helped BUILD for 7 years. Imagine a company holds $2 billion in tokenized Treasuries on XRPL. It suddenly needs $500 million of liquidity. Instead of selling everything and moving through multiple systems, it uses the Treasury position as collateral. Receives RLUSD. Then converts part of that liquidity into another currency through ripple:native. Now ripple:native is sitting in the middle of: -money -government debt -FX -credit -collateral That is a completely different role from people simply trading XRP on an exchange. And Ripple has been building the institutional infrastructure around that role. Ripple Prime gives Ripple a connection into professional capital markets. Ripple Custody gives institutions infrastructure for holding digital assets. Ripple Payments handles movement. RLUSD provides regulated dollar liquidity. XRPL handles tokenization and settlement. ripple:native sits natively underneath the ledger. When I put all of that beside what Scott Bessent is saying about stablecoins and Treasuries, I cannot ignore the alignment. The U.S. wants stronger global demand for dollars. Stablecoins can extend dollars onto digital rails. The U.S. wants buyers for Treasury bills. Stablecoin reserves can become buyers. The U.S. wants more efficient capital markets. Tokenized Treasuries can make those assets easier to move and use. Ripple already has a regulated stablecoin. RLUSD already has Treasury-eligible reserve assets. XRPL already has tokenized Treasury products. RLUSD already interacts with OUSG. Ripple has already backed OpenEden Treasury infrastructure. Guggenheim Treasury Services already has Treasury-secured digital commercial paper on XRPL. This is not one random announcement. It is a system starting to form. And there is another point I think is being missed. The bullish XRP thesis does not require the U.S. dollar to fail. I actually think the opposite scenario is much stronger. Imagine the dollar becomes even more dominant because regulated stablecoins make it easier for anyone in the world to hold and move digital dollars. Those stablecoins create more demand for U.S. Treasuries. Treasuries themselves become tokenized. Global investors buy them 24/7. And ripple:native becomes one of the liquidity assets connecting those digital dollars and Treasury products to currencies around the world. In that world: the dollar wins. Treasuries win. Ripple wins. XRPL wins. And ripple:native gets a much bigger liquidity role. That is why the GENIUS Act matters here too. The framework is pushing stablecoins toward regulated 1:1 reserve structures. Bessent has talked about stablecoins strengthening dollar dominance. Ripple already has RLUSD. RLUSD is issued through a New York-regulated structure. BNY is the primary custodian for RLUSD reserves. That is serious financial infrastructure. It means Ripple is not building some completely separate parallel monetary system. It is building directly around the same regulated dollar and Treasury framework Washington is encouraging. And that is what makes this thesis so powerful to me. The path does not need to be: America abandons the dollar. America adopts XRP. That sounds unrealistic and honestly misses the point. The much bigger setup is: America keeps the dollar. America keeps Treasuries. Stablecoins make the dollar more digital. Tokenization makes Treasuries more accessible. Ripple builds the infrastructure around both. And ripple:native connects them to the rest of the global financial system. That is a completely different level of adoption. Now take this to the highly bullish scenario. Imagine the global stablecoin market reaches $3 trillion. RLUSD becomes one of the major institutional stablecoins. Maybe it reaches $100 billion or more in circulation. That means an enormous reserve pool exists behind it. Part of that reserve base holds short-term Treasury securities, Treasury-backed repo and government money-market instruments. Ripple becomes a major private-sector participant in short-term U.S. government debt demand. At the same time, tokenized Treasury products on XRPL grow from where they are today into tens of billions. Then hundreds of billions. Global asset managers start holding Treasury exposure directly on XRPL. Banks use RLUSD to enter and exit those positions. Treasuries get used as collateral. Institutions borrow against them. Ripple Prime connects the professional market. Ripple Custody holds the assets. XRPL settles them. Then currencies from around the world need to enter and exit that system. That is where ripple:native can explode in importance. Market makers need XRP inventory. Liquidity providers need deeper XRP books. Banks need larger settlement capacity. More XRP sits inside institutional liquidity operations. The amount of financial value that needs to move through the system keeps increasing. And suddenly the market has to ask a very different question: Is the current dollar value of ripple:native large enough to provide liquidity for this kind of financial system? Imagine $100 billion of tokenized Treasuries. Then $500 billion. Then trillions of tokenized fixed income across XRPL and connected markets. Imagine RLUSD at $100 billion. Imagine global currencies continuously moving in and out. At that point, the amount of liquidity required looks nothing like today's crypto market. A higher ripple:native price means every unit can represent more dollar value. That gives liquidity providers more settlement capacity without needing absurd quantities of XRP for every transaction. That is why I see price and liquidity eventually becoming connected. The bigger the financial system that XRP is asked to connect, the deeper the dollar value of XRP liquidity needs to become. That is the scenario I keep coming back to. Because the wild part is that the starting pieces already exist. RLUSD already has Treasury-eligible reserves. Scott Bessent already sees stablecoins as a potential source of Treasury demand. The GENIUS Act already created the regulatory direction. Ondo OUSG already exists on XRP Ledger. RLUSD already provides an entry and redemption path for that Treasury exposure. Ripple already committed $10 million to OpenEden Treasury products. Guggenheim Treasury Services already has Treasury-secured fixed income on XRPL. BNY already sits behind RLUSD reserve custody. Ripple already has Prime, Payments and Custody. So when YTN asks: “Buying U.S. Treasury Bonds with Crypto?” I do not read that as some distant fantasy anymore. I look at the infrastructure being built and think: What happens when the world's largest government debt market meets regulated stablecoins, tokenized securities and 24/7 blockchain settlement? And what happens if XRP Ledger becomes one of the rails carrying it? That is the part people should be thinking about. Because the real ripple:native thesis may not be about replacing the dollar at all. It may be about becoming the liquidity layer underneath a stronger, more digital dollar system. RLUSD can bring dollars onchain. Tokenized Treasuries can bring U.S. debt onchain. XRPL can become the marketplace and settlement layer. And ripple:native can connect that system to the rest of the world. If that scales into trillions, we are no longer talking about XRP as just another crypto asset. Big Tech just forced the US government into bailing ITSELF out. This morning the US Treasury announced it will at least double the size of its own bond buybacks, because for two months almost nobody else wanted them. The 30-year Treasury bond hit its highest yield since 2007 last Thursday, then did it again yesterday. The long end has been in a buyers' strike since late June, meaning the pension funds and insurers who normally absorb 20 and 30 year government paper stopped showing up. This morning it auctioned $16 billion of 20-year debt at the second-worst yield since that bond was reintroduced in 2020. So the Treasury tore up a schedule it had published two weeks earlier. It doubled the maximum size of each long-bond buyback from $2 billion to at least $4 billion, and went from two operations a quarter to four. The 30-year yield fell 9 basis points within minutes. Stocks rallied. By early afternoon the 10-year had given almost all of it back. BUT the thing is, this operation changes almost nothing, because the underlying problem is untouched: The tidal wave of hyperscaler debt sitting on top of very large government deficits. Hyperscaler means Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle and Nvidia. The Wall Street Journal went through the footnotes of 9 tech companies' filings on Sunday and found roughly $3 TRILLION in AI commitments sitting outside their balance sheets. That is 5x the $600 billion of capital spending those same companies reported over the past year. Alphabet alone discloses $811 billion in purchase and contractual obligations. Three months earlier it was $332 billion. All of it has to be funded somewhere. And this is where it collides with the government: Data centers, chip supply agreements and 20-year power contracts are long-duration assets, and long-duration assets get financed with long-duration debt. That is the exact product the US Treasury sells. There is a finite pool of investors willing to lend money for 30 years at a fixed rate. That pool does not get bigger because Meta needs another campus in Louisiana. So when the largest companies in history issue hundreds of billions of long-dated debt at the same moment the Treasury needs to roll a national debt approaching $40 trillion, both sides are bidding for the SAME buyers. One of those bidders can offer whatever yield it takes and book it as growth. The other one is the US government, and this morning it folded. Treasury does not create money for these buybacks. Big Tech just forced the US government into bailing ITSELF out. This morning the US Treasury announced it will at least double the size of its own bond buybacks, because for two months almost nobody else wanted them. The 30-year Treasury bond hit its highest yield since 2007 last Thursday, then did it again yesterday. The long end has been in a buyers' strike since late June, meaning the pension funds and insurers who normally absorb 20 and 30 year government paper stopped showing up. This morning it auctioned $16 billion of 20-year debt at the second-worst yield since that bond was reintroduced in 2020. So the Treasury tore up a schedule it had published two weeks earlier. It doubled the maximum size of each long-bond buyback from $2 billion to at least $4 billion, and went from two operations a quarter to four. The 30-year yield fell 9 basis points within minutes. Stocks rallied. By early afternoon the 10-year had given almost all of it back. BUT the thing is, this operation changes almost nothing, because the underlying problem is untouched: The tidal wave of hyperscaler debt sitting on top of very large government deficits. Hyperscaler means Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle and Nvidia. The Wall Street Journal went through the footnotes of 9 tech companies' filings on Sunday and found roughly $3 TRILLION in AI commitments sitting outside their balance sheets. That is 5x the $600 billion of capital spending those same companies reported over the past year. Alphabet alone discloses $811 billion in purchase and contractual obligations. Three months earlier it was $332 billion. All of it has to be funded somewhere. And this is where it collides with the government: Data centers, chip supply agreements and 20-year power contracts are long-duration assets, and long-duration assets get financed with long-duration debt. That is the exact product the US Treasury sells. There is a finite pool of investors willing to lend money for 30 years at a fixed rate. That pool does not get bigger because Meta needs another campus in Louisiana. So when the largest companies in history issue hundreds of billions of long-dated debt at the same moment the Treasury needs to roll a national debt approaching $40 trillion, both sides are bidding for the SAME buyers. One of those bidders can offer whatever yield it takes and book it as growth. The other one is the US government, and this morning it folded. Treasury does not create money for these buybacks. This is the most SHAMELESS structural manipulation of a major index I've ever seen. SpaceX is preparing what could be the largest IPO in history. Target valuation: $1.75 trillion. That would make it the sixth-largest company in America on day one. And Nasdaq wants the listing so badly they're literally CHANGING how the Nasdaq-100 works. In February, Nasdaq published a "consultation" proposing sweeping changes to how companies enter the index. The timing is pure coincidence, of course. Just like it's pure coincidence that SpaceX has reportedly made fast index inclusion a CONDITION of listing on Nasdaq. Here's what they're proposing: A new "Fast Entry" rule would let any newly listed company whose market cap ranks in the top 40 of current Nasdaq-100 members get added to the index after just 15 trading days. No seasoning period. No liquidity requirements. Completely exempt from the standards every other company had to meet. Currently, new public companies typically wait up to a year before they're eligible for major index inclusion. That waiting period exists for a reason. It lets the market establish real price discovery. It protects passive investors from being forced into untested, illiquid stocks. And Nasdaq wants to throw all of that out. For ONE listing. But the Fast Entry rule isn't even the worst part... The real scandal is the 5x float multiplier. Right now, the S&P 500 uses a free-float adjusted methodology. If only 5% of a company's shares are available for public trading, the index weights you at 5% of total market cap. That's common sense. You weight a company based on what investors can actually buy. Nasdaq's current methodology already uses total market cap rather than free-float for weighting. But for very low-float stocks, they at least had a 10% minimum float threshold. Under the new proposal, that threshold DISAPPEARS entirely. Instead, any stock with less than 20% free float gets weighted at FIVE TIMES its actual float percentage, capped at 100%. Do the math on SpaceX: If SpaceX IPOs at $1.75 trillion and floats 5% of its shares, there would be roughly $87.5 billion worth of stock available for public trading. Under Nasdaq's proposed 5x multiplier, the index would weight SpaceX at 25% of its total market cap. That means passive funds would be forced to buy as if SpaceX were a $437.5 billion company. But only $87.5 billion of stock actually exists in the market. You are forcing hundreds of billions in passive buying into a $87.5 billion float. QQQ alone manages nearly $400 billion. The total Nasdaq-100 ecosystem represents over $1.4 trillion in exposure across ETFs, mutual funds, structured notes, and derivatives. Every single passive vehicle tracking this index would be REQUIRED to buy SpaceX at whatever price the market dictates. On Day 15. With zero price discovery. Zero track record as a public company. And a float so thin you could read through it. So what this actually does is it creates a structural wealth transfer mechanism. The passive bid from index funds pushes the stock price higher. That higher price benefits exactly one group of people: the insiders and early investors who own the other 95% of the shares. And when lock-up periods expire 90 to 180 days later? Wall Street is running the same trade two Nobel Prize winners used to nearly destroy the global financial system. The Fed's OWN economists know it. They literally wrote a paper about it and named the paper after the fund that blew up. It's called "LTCM Redux?" and it ran in the Journal of Financial Economics. Here's what they are worried about repeating: Long-Term Capital Management launched in 1994 under John Meriwether, formerly head of bond trading at Salomon Brothers. Myron Scholes and Robert Merton sat on the board and won the 1997 Nobel Prize in Economics while the fund was running. A former vice chairman of the Federal Reserve Board was a partner. It returned 20% in its first year, 43% in the second, and 41% in the third. The strategy was to find nearly identical bonds priced slightly differently and bet the gap would close. The gaps were pennies, so the only way to make real money was to borrow enormous amounts against them. Entering 1998 the fund had $4.8 billion of its own capital, had borrowed more than $125 billion, and held derivatives with a notional value above $1 trillion. At the end of 1997 the partners handed capital back to investors without cutting their positions to match, which pushed their leverage higher still. Then Russia defaulted in August 1998. Money ran for safety, the gaps that were supposed to close widened instead, and every position moved against them at once. Equity fell from $4.8 billion to $2.3 billion by the first of September. Roughly $4.6 billion evaporated in under four months. On September 23 the New York Fed put 14 firms in one room and did not let them leave. By six that evening they had committed $3.6 billion and taken 90% of the fund. The Fed itself lent nothing. Those 14 firms were LTCM's own lenders, and a forced sale of more than a trillion dollars in positions into a market with no buyers would have torn through their balance sheets first. Even with the rescue in place, the chairman of Union Bank of Switzerland resigned over a $780 million loss on options it had written on the fund. And the ending of that story is what makes it matter now: The banks were repaid in full by 2000 and nobody was charged with anything. Meriwether raised a new fund the following year. The lesson the market took away was that when a leveraged fund gets big enough to threaten the plumbing, somebody convenes a room. That precedent is now sitting underneath the largest bond market on Earth. Hedge funds held $2.4 trillion of US Treasuries at the end of last year, financed with about $1.8 trillion of borrowed money in the repo market. The cash-futures basis trade alone reached $830 billion as of last September, close to double its previous peak. Leverage on it commonly runs 50x and can reach 100x. And the conditions for a disaster are already here... The 30 year yield hit its highest level since 2007 twice in the past week. The long end has been in a buyers' strike since June. Yesterday the Treasury abandoned its own published schedule and doubled its bond buybacks without warning. What killed LTCM was liquidity disappearing from the market where its borrowed money was parked. And this time the rescue is being drawn up in ADVANCE. Academics from Harvard, Columbia and Chicago have already published a proposal urging the Fed to build a standing facility to absorb these positions when they unwind. Morgan Stanley estimates these positions shrank by more than $200 billion in July as spreads compressed. On top of that, central clearing becomes mandatory at the end of this year. The trade genuinely makes Treasury markets more liquid on ordinary days. But ordinary days were never the problem.
