Slip is the biggest disadvantage. Uphill, I can't think of any other mechanism other than a firm chain locking

Its probably not bad, but thousands of things have been tried, and the chain we have now is the most efficient system & cheapest system by a lot.

Looks cool but how is the practicality, how easy is to get spares, durability, and easy it is to work on? There is a reason why chain is still the go to power transfer for bicycles after more than a century.

It's exactly like the pinion and bevel gear arrangement we see in rear wheel drive vehicles. Problem is that it ain't so strong. Also there's no mechanism to handle undulations on the road transmitted to this drive.

I doubt you can put a lot of force in the pedals. Chains are good for this

Concept looks nice, but realistically it'll be putting too much stress on the "grater" and either bend, snap it or it'll skip the teeth, exposed drive shaft is also rather questionable. Older driveshaft designs are more practical.
