The Chainlink Reserve is designed to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the Chainlink Network by accumulating LINK tokens using offchain revenue from large enterprises that are adopting the Chainlink standard and from onchain service usage. We could have done a VC raise and grifted everyone with a downonly token and subpar product that founders have no interest in working on beyond securing their exits. But to us, an important part of the Parquet "experiment" is showing that it's possible for anyone to build a valuable protocol without relying on connections or capital.
