It's not the same

This is a challenge, #Lebanon!

This is the wiring closet I inherited at my last job.

Believe it or not, one of my MOST FAVORITE jobs (kinda like this as this is not a network comm box). I love taking something that's a total mess, undocumented, and failing to a nice cleanup, documented, and fully functional and expandable comm closet. I love cleaning them up, maintaining them, and upgrading them! 🤓

Then next day 10 more connections will need to be made then he has to unravel the masterpiece. It's a hard balance between structure and flexibility when it comes to cable management.

He used to be a weaver

Next!

Yeaaaa.. just nope. 15-20 wires crimped into a single lug??

Bro went from spaghetti junction to gallery-worthy art in under 2 minutes Respect to whoever did this, my OCD is finally at peace. How many zip ties died for this masterpiece though?

This looks like:

I don’t see any wire labels, how do you service this? I like service loops too.

You have not a single marking on any of the fuses or cable, you have created a nightmare.

I want this!

Looks satisfying, but it’s probably a brand-new distribution panel—fresh install, no load yet, cable lengths planned and still ‘clean,’ so tidying it up is the easy part. Try doing the same on a panel that’s been in service for years: mixed cable sizes, add-ons, shortcuts, limited slack… that’s the real ‘challenge accepted.’

Nice, but no labels on the wires so how do you know exactly where they go and what they run?

Friends don't let friends use zip ties for structured cabling. Just sayin'

Stirling Scotland box:

A thing of beauty. Art can take many forms!

Give this guy your destiny, he will fix it for you. 😂

When the master switch is tuned on...

Just makes my butt itch

#hottake now is harder to replace a cable, you need to cut like 70 straps each time and put new ones after replacing

The enhancement to whole this job, is to replace plastic ties by Velcro to avoid cutting cables by error when some maintenance

He doesn't fix a mess of wires, he paints a work of art.

Why don’t more people do this?!?

This is so satisfying. Thank you!!

The colors are throwing me off a bit. The red, green, yellow are 3 phases of ac power. Some breakers are 3 poles, some are 2 poles. The ground is also green which is what's confusing, I would suggest using brown so you don't get confused with one of the 3 phase. Very neat job and great job otherwise.

No torque driver - what a bodge!

This reminded me of my father. A very skilled Electrical engineer. I've always known that these people were artists at heart. They have a tremendous eye for detail

Nice, but now those tied wires will not easily dissipate heat.

😵💫😵💫😵💫

This guy should arrange my closet. 🥺
