Some time back, one of our competitors took out an ad highlighting the fact that they had topped one of the viewership rankings. NDTV had come second that month. But the competition was unwilling to acknowledge NDTV’s growth. So they showed themselves on top, followed by the networks that came third and fourth. NDTV was simply left out of the reckoning. Some in the team were angry. I was amused. It reminded me of the oft-quoted adage: “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” NDTV
