Championship TEAMS are built OFF the field How could this be possible? Let me explain (THREAD):

In the new age of training where Private Development reigns king over off-season programs and blanket skill templates, it can be very easy to lose touch of the fact that it’s a TEAM game No argument that players seeking out help to fix specific issues isn’t a good thing

but in some cases this can lead to isolation and loss of camaraderie within the locker room Think about it: if you have 35 players all doing an individual plan that completely places the focus on themselves, it’s going to hard to also get them to buy into a team oriented goal

No wonder the transfer portal is bursting at the seams right now! But from any level, championship teams always have a few things: -Mojo -Leaders -Energy -Buy-In And last and most important: -FUN

It’s very hard to build these things on the field when everyone is focused on their skills and improving physically Which is fantastic! Just look at Alabama football. They have one of the best strength programs in the country and the best coach in college football. They win.

But I guarantee you those guys are also hanging out together off the field. Diving into each other’s personal lives and building relationships that will last a lifetime. Those guys go out on the weekends together They treat afternoon games of Madden like it’s the super bowl

They talk shit with one another And they have a genuine love and care for each other So how does this help you on the field?

You can hold guys accountable. It’s easier to get into someone’s ass when you know what makes them tick and that it won’t start a long term grudge It also allows you to trust the guys on your team and create a “Ride-Or-Die” mentality for your players

And when you do this? Your team had more success. You share the fruits of victory. A more enjoyable experience on and off the field allows everyone to be at their BEST And eliminates the anxiety of feeling like you don’t have someone to pick you up when you’re down

It also doesn’t mean that you have to go out and get plastered with your teammates every weekend Team dinners, study sessions, book clubs or bible studies go a long way. There was not a day in my college experience I didn’t spend significant time off the field with my team

Take stock in your situation right now and see how you can help your team. Individual performance is great, but if you’re winning while the team is LOSING, that sucks. Better team, better individual, more wins.
