The Samastha Centenary Conference of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, a prominent Sunni Muslim scholars' organisation, was held in Kasaragod from February 4 to 8. Several UDF / Congress leaders attended and spoke highly of the Islamic group. In contrast, during the Kerala Kumbh Mela (January 18 to February 3), none of them bothered to pass that way. Over 65 lakh Hindus had attended and yet none of the UDF or LDF leaders even acknowledged this massive gathering. Muslim appeasement continues to be the default setting for the Congress and Marxists in Kerala.

In reality, Kerala is a model of minority appeasement. Here the Muslims and Christians have all the rights, wealth and political clout because they demand all sorts of privileges to stay in the LDF or UDF coalition. Hindus are effectively disenfranchised and lagging in all areas of development. Kerala is a window into India's future where minorities will become more demanding and less accommodating.
