@IOHK_Charles This is all backlash due to IO/Charles own doing, a lack of transparency + verifiability + communication regarding this whole process is the exact reason why people lose trust and begin to speculate. And rightly so, it looks extremely suspicious.

charles likely knew from the beginning that he planned to build a highly decentralized blockchain. perhaps he didn't take adequate measures to disassociate himself as the figurehead of cardano, and specifically its marketing, in the process. whether that be hubris, or poor planning is anyone's best guess. what's not guesswork is his poor ability to navigate criticism (either constructive or destructive) against both himself and cardano. if you don't want to be criticized, then do nothing, be nothing, and say nothing. otherwise, get over it. this audio likely stems from the recent discovery of IO's silent ada redemption from 2021 by @masatoalexander. it's a serious point that deserves discussion, not litigation threats. if IO truly believed they were within their right to redeem the 300m ada, not only would they have said so at the time, but they wouldn't respond to its discovery with legal intimidation.

@IOHK_Charles His point that feeding the trolls directly slows mass adoption is spot on.

His anger is warranted and no one should be accusing him of stealing. But if this response doesn’t concern/anger you as a community member you are beyond compromised and have seriously lost the plot. This man just threatened veteran community members and ppl for retweeting and liking. Spreading lies deliberately is one thing. Engaging in interesting content that is relevant to investments directly tied to the outcome is not criminal and the fact he just threatened ppl for doing that is wild.

@IOHK_Charles @masatoalexander I really think tou should reconsider your stance. I don’t buy the discourse that Charles is a liar. Cardano is his life. Why would he steal from people when he has so much? Why would he do things that is totally contrary to his and crypto ethos?
