Someone needs to put tariffs on his barber.

not against tariffs, but this is a bad argument for them basic knowledge that Toyota ships over a 90% complete truck to avoid the tariff and then has Americans add the last few bits; not real manufacturing nor high skilled nor high paying & the price increase doesn’t get avoided; whether Toyota pays 10% on a tariff or has to pay 10% more for reshoring, their costs of goods sold goes up. They’re forced to balance between lower margins and passing on the cost to the customer—with Toyotas being popular, maybe they pass on 100% of the tariff There’s no free lunch with how much offshoring happened over the past 50 years

This is not perfect though. The problem is twofold: First he isn’t talking about targeted tariffs, he is talking about across the board tariffs. We literally cannot source and produce everything here so that means costs are going up. Second, if we do produce something here, the labor is more expensive. That means prices are going up. Targeted tariffs make sense to protect industries but we are never making nuke shoes here because the labor difference is just too far.

Just wondering, but isn't it likely it's cheaper to produce goods in countries with cheap labor and raw material, with these goods now being made in the US, it's certainly a more expensive cost for labor and potentially the raw materials. Since cost of living is higher. Sure, it creates more jobs, but to compensate more expensive labor, wouldn't the prices then be raised to maintain some level of profit or even to meet operating cost? Anyone? Just curious.

@ERIS4ThePEOPLE It’s great that he’s waking up politically. Now, can somebody talk to this guy about his hair.

Did they put a tariff on hair clippers when his barber was half way through giving him a cut? What the fuck is that? It’s going to give me nightmares.

It’s only been 3 days and we already see companies planning to move production back to the US. Great for job creation and great for economic growth.

@DebraMMason1 How inflation is made. Also….listen to the excuses that politicians use what cause inflation and who’s to blame. This is from the 70’s and they still are using them.
