What is "science" if not a religion? They have questions about the unknown and unseen, they pursue truth, they study and they exercise faith in that pursuit. The only difference, IMO, is that they do not consider something a "fact" or "truthful" until an instrument of their own making measures and quantifies it. They don't realize that our bodies, minds and hearts are holy instruments that can perform all of these experiments independently and provide, by the Holy Spirit, proof of what is "truth" and "fact".
Well put! You are right. Science is a religion! Everything in life is based on beliefs. Science is theories and hypotheses based on human interception.

What is evident in Maher is that he has never looked with any curiosity or wonder or to question his confirmation bias - He engages with a desire to disprove.
