This is the Scorpion Hexapod, a six-legged robotic scorpion created at Ghent University UGent Campus Kortrijk in Belgium. It was built by students Stephan Flamand Robbe Terryn and Pieterjan Deconinck as part of an Embedded Prototyping / Mechatronics Design project. In France, construction has been completed of the largest 3D-printed residential building in Europe The project includes 12 social housing apartments across three floors. The company Plurial Novilia built it in 34 days instead of the planned 50. The entire process was supervised by only three operators. This is the first case in France where 3D printing was used not only for walls but also for the building’s load-bearing structures. Next to it stands a similar building constructed using traditional methods — it took about three months longer to build. In the future, the developer plans to scale up the project and further speed up construction.
