I’ve never really understood this one. If you owe money on a car and want to get rid of it, sell it. Why bother with insurance fraud knowing they’ll never pay out what it’s truly worth? The note doesn’t change. You’ll still owe the bank in the end.

Aren't you in the Orlando area? If so you will be fine, by the time it gets that far inland its max winds will be in the 80-90 MPH range. I lived in SW Florida for +25 years and have weathered more than 20 hurricanes. You will be fine.
