Chat search was almost 12X slower than current Google search for this query. Google - answer 4 seconds + local Bing ChatGPT - answer ~50 seconds + had to ask This is one of the things I keep coming back to. Speed matters in search.

📍A local SEO trick every pro should know: Use the UULE parameter to set a precise location for your search results. Adding a UULE parameter to your Google search query lets you see search results from a specific region without needing an extension or being physically there. Here’s how: 1️⃣ Generate a UULE for the location (Find a tool by googling “uule generator”) You will get a code that looks like this: &uule=w+CAIQICIQRWRtb250b24sIENhbmFkYQ 2️⃣ Now run any search in Google. 3️⃣ Look at the URL for your search and replace the last part of it with the UULE parameter. For example: google . com/search?q=sushi+restaurant &uule=w+CAIQICIQRWRtb250b24sIENhbmFkYQ How do you set your search location? #seo #localseo

Google CEO on the fact that the search engine shows a photo of Trump when you type the word "idiot": If you type the word "idiot" in the Google search engine under the "Images" section, a photo of Donald Trump will appear. I just did this. How does this happen? How does such a search work for this to happen?

I sat down with Robby Stein (Robby Stein), Google’s VP of Product for Search, at Google I/O. Robby is one of the most interesting product leaders in tech: he helped build Instagram Stories, Reels and Close Friends, and now leads core Google Search products including AI Overviews, AI Mode, Lens and ranking. We talked about one of the biggest shifts in the history of the web: Google Search becoming AI-native. Topics we covered: • AI Mode and whether it is an evolution of Search or a reinvention of it • how Google breaks complex questions into multiple searches behind the scenes • why AI search is much more expensive to run than traditional search • whether Google’s TPUs and infrastructure give it an advantage no one else can match • why Search volume is growing instead of being cannibalized by AI • the tension between great AI answers and traffic for publishers • how Google decides which sources and links to show • what a better internet could look like if AI Search works as intended The big question behind the whole conversation: If Google gives you the answer directly, what happens to the link-based web? A small caveat: sadly the microphones didnt work properly. Therefore the audio quality in this episode isn't perfect due to a recording issue - we appreciate your understanding.

For ongoing tasks, like planning a wedding or managing a move, Search will soon be able to build custom experiences with Google Google Antigravity that you can continue to come back to and make progress on. Think of them like building your own mini apps right in Search. Here’s Robby Stein, VP of Product, Search demoing the new tool on the #GoogleIO stage.

Do the police have the right to search you randomly without a search warrant? The answer is yes, search you and not your houses or your phones. But to search you, your bag, pockets, is allowed. This chap was standing at a club around 5 AM looking suspicious, when operatives of RRS intercepted and searched him, and this gun was recovered. Listen to his reason for taking the gun to the club

Google Search is now dominated by spam. So I made this Chrome extension that queries Reddit in the background, summarizes results and shows them in a sidebar next to google search results. It's like having your own Perplexity! Want it? Let me know!

Last week, we introduced Personal Intelligence in the Google Gemini. Today, we’re bringing that same helpful experience to AI Mode in Google Search 🔍 Now, you can securely connect Search to Google apps like Gmail and Google Photos to get responses that are uniquely relevant to you. This experimental feature is built with Gemini 3, our most intelligent model, and is strictly opt-in — meaning you choose if and when you want to connect these apps. Here’s what that looks like in Search 🧵(1/7) ↓
