Chebole- Chebunyo road in Bomet passes outside transport CS Davis Chirchir’s house. It has been launched several times by Uhuru and Ruto. It was tarmarced not long ago and this is the situation of the road. People belong in jail.

The Teok-Sivasagar Highway is an important road in the Jorhat region, critical for boosting connectivity. Work for several portions of the road has been ‘ongoing’ for the past several years. The condition of the road is deplorable. From frequent accidents to long traffic jams, this portion is affected with several issues. Several contractors have been brought in and left the job mid-way. Multiple tenders of work have been issued, to no effect. People are facing severe inconvenience. I urge Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari to intervene and take immediate action. Shri Gadkari has visited Jorhat in the recent past. I’m optimistic that he will take the necessary steps to ensure work is completed at the earliest and people don’t have to suffer indiscriminately.

The stretch of General Mathenge Drive between Mpaka Road and Ring Road Parklands was dug up three years ago. It has remained in this state, and is worse when it rains. My inquiries with Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) indicate that the road has been earmarked for re-carpeting, and that the contractor is currently at 3rd Parklands Avenue moving towards it. The delay is inordinate, and there is urgent need now than ever before, to complete the repair of the dilapidated road.

Yet, neither the governor, the deputy governor, nor any government official was present at the scene. And this is not the first time. This road is in Enugu State. This road leads to the states owned United Palm at Ibite-Olo in Ezeagu. This road was not this terrible until Government owned tractors spoiled it so much and the state has refused to fix it or honor the MoU. Fun fact: Enugu is a Broom State.
