Check out our #ECCV2026 paper "Low-latency Event-based Object Detection with Spatially-Sparse Linear Attention", where we make linear attention sparse in space, recurrent in time, and parallel in training, enabling the first purely-linear-attention-based neural network for asynchronous object detection with #EventCameras, outperforming the previous best asynchronous method with 20x less... computation with truly event-by-event inference on CPU! Code released! Paper: Code: Video: Event cameras promise extremely low-latency vision, but to fully exploit them, the neural network must be low-latency too. We introduce #SpatiallySparseLinearAttention (#SSLA) for asynchronous object detection directly from raw events. Linear attention is particularly appealing for event cameras: it can be trained efficiently in parallel on long event sequences, while at inference it operates recurrently, updating its prediction every time a new event arrives. The problem is that conventional linear attention updates its entire state for every event. For object detection, where fine spatial resolution matters, this quickly becomes expensive. Our key idea is simple: an event only carries information about a small spatial region, so why update the entire spatial state? SSLA updates only the relevant parts of the state, enabling fine-grained spatial representations while keeping per-event computation low. We are excited to share our #CORL2024 paper on learning quadrotor obstacle avoidance from the visual stream of a single #eventcamera! Trained entirely in simulation! We demonstrate obstacle avoidance both in the dark and in a forest up to 5m/s. PDF: Video: Project page: Event cameras are sensors that output per-pixel-level intensity changes at microsecond latency resolution; they feature nearly zero motion blur and high dynamic range but produce a very large volume of events under significant ego-motion and further lack a high-fidelity continuous-time sensor model in simulation, making direct #sim2real transfer not possible. By leveraging depth prediction as a pretext task, we pre-train a reactive obstacle avoidance policy with “approximated” simulated events and then fine-tune the perception component with limited events-and-depth real-world data. This technique bridges the sim2real gap for #eventcameras! As at the current state, there is no continuous-time sensor model for event cameras, we hope that this work can finally spur future research leveraging simulation for training event-vision-based policies to create faster, agile robots! Check out our #PAMI paper with code "Dense Continuous-Time Optical Flow from Event Cameras," where we show how to regress *continuous-time* trajectories of every pixel from event cameras alone or events plus frames! The key idea is to iteratively estimate per-pixel polynomials using a recurrent lookup and update scheme. Paper: Code: DOI: We present a method for estimating dense continuous-time optical flow from event data. Traditional dense optical flow methods compute the pixel displacement between two images. Due to missing information, these approaches cannot recover the pixel trajectories in the blind time between two images. We show that it is possible to compute per-pixel, continuous-time optical flow using events from an event camera. Events provide temporally fine-grained information about movement in pixel space due to their asynchronous nature and microsecond response time. We leverage these benefits to predict pixel trajectories densely in continuous time via parameterized Bézier curves. To achieve this, we build a neural network with strong inductive biases for this task: First, we build multiple sequential correlation volumes in time using event data. Second, we use Bézier curves to index these correlation volumes at multiple timestamps along the trajectory. Third, we use the retrieved correlation to update the Bézier curve representations iteratively. Our method can optionally include image pairs to boost performance further. To train and evaluate our model, we introduce a synthetic dataset (MultiFlow) that features moving objects and ground truth trajectories for every pixel. Our quantitative experiments suggest that our method successfully predicts pixel trajectories in continuous time and is competitive in the traditional two-view pixel displacement metric on MultiFlow and DSEC-Flow. We are excited to share our work “Event-Aided Sharp Radiance Field Reconstruction for Fast-Flying Drones” published in IEEE Transactions on Robotics IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO), which tackles sharp radiance field reconstruction under agile drone motion, where RGB frames are heavily motion-blurred and pose priors become unreliable! 4 years in the making! Code & dataset released! PDF: Code & Dataset: Full Narrated Video: High-speed flight is essential for time- and battery-constrained missions (e.g., inspection, exploration, search & rescue). However, fast motion corrupts visual data with severe motion blur and introduces drift/noise in visual-inertial odometry, making NeRF-based 3D reconstruction particularly brittle. We propose a unified framework that leverages asynchronous #EventCamera streams together with motion-blurred frames to reconstruct high-fidelity radiance fields from agile drone flights. Our key idea is to embed event-image fusion directly into radiance field optimization while jointly refining a shared, continuous-time camera trajectory initialized from event-based VIO. This enables us to recover sharp radiance fields and accurate trajectories without ground-truth supervision during training. We validate our method on synthetic data and on real sequences captured by a drone flying up to 2 m/s. Despite severe blur and noisy pose priors, our method preserves fine scene details and achieves a performance gain of over 50% on real-world data compared to state-of-the-art methods. THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!! Been working like a dog for a launch this week.. I'm trying to be compact here... bear with me: Let's wrap up the last 6 months. Since the first BTCHEL event last year, we have: • Upgraded the BTCHEL Hub from a temporary pop-up shop to a permanent and versatile physical space for local bitcoiners. You're welcome to check it out on Fridays when we have open doors and free entry! • Promoted Kaisu Hyvärinen, an experienced event producer as the company's COO and hired new talent; Rachel Geyer, the chairman of European Bitcoin Energy Association, to lead a new event we're launching. Welcome to our team, Rachel! • Raised a seed stage funding round of 100,000€ on a million-euro valuation for the company. We now have two prominent Finnish bitcoin mining companies on board around the year. Now, what's next for 2026? Today marks the 200-day countdown to this year's BTCHEL WEEK and thus we start to push the momentum for real. We launch a new, european wide bitcoin mining industry event similar to what they have in the US... it's about time we have our own in Europe. It's called the EUROPEAN MINING SUMMIT 2026 or EMS in short. EMS is the must-attend industry event for anyone with an interest in bitcoin mining in Europe. Miners, hardware manufacturers, hosts, pools, power plants and the whole energy sector. Our goal is to bring as much hashrate to Europe as possible. This has a tremendous impact for Europe's energy independence, abundance and decarbonisation. Now that we have our trademark industry event where we serve our corporate clients, we can now double down on HC cypherpunk and bitcoin pleb culture at BTCHEL2026. Why did so many languages copy async/await from C#? Anders Hejlsberg(Anders Hejlsberg) - creator of TypeScript, C# & Turbo Pascal - on what they got right with the design: #1 - async/await was designed to solve a common problem in the event-loop model: "A lot of languages are built around cooperative multitasking in the sense that they have an event loop that sits and dispatches events. Then you handle the event and then you yield back to the event handler loop. And it all runs in a single thread cooperatively. The problem with that is if you then want to do some long running work: how do I stop in the middle of this piece of long running work and yield back to the event loop cooperatively? And then when my result is ready, I can come back and continue executing here." #2 - state machines are the solution, but hard to build: "Well, in order to do that in an inverted architecture like that, you have to build a state machine. State machines are notoriously hard for people to implement because you've got to move all of your state off of the stack into objects. And then you have this big case statement that envelopes your entire logic. It's a nightmare to figure out. But, the transformation from serially executing code into a state machine, its continuation-passing-style translation is actually one that you can do in a machine-based fashion." #3 - compilers are good at writing state machines: "You can have the compiler write the state machine if you introduce syntax that allows you to indicate where you want to yield. And that's what await is. Await is basically saying, I want to yield here, and I want to yield this promise, and then when the promise completes, I want you to come back here and continue executing. Then the compiler writes a state machine around it and it actually turns it into this big switch statement and moves all of the state that survives across the await into something that's heap allocated. So it can be brought back. And doing all of that work is something that compilers are great at. And so that was sort of the idea that we have this new style of programming where we're using promises or the equivalent of promises and the ability to yield and then we have callbacks. But trying to write your program in that style, that's also what JavaScript suffered from a lot. It's like all this callback style stuff. With Async and Await, you get the illusion that you're just writing normal sequential code and then the compiler does the painful transformation for you. That turns out to be really useful."

Last Friday on Pi Day, we held AI Dev 25, a new conference for AI Developers. Tickets had (unfortunately) sold out shortly after we announced their availability, but I came away energized by the day of coding and technical discussions with fellow AI Builders! Let me share here my observations from the event. I'd decided to start AI Dev because while there're great academic AI conferences that disseminate research work (such as NeurIPS, ICML and ICLR) and also great meetings held by individual companies, often focused on each company's product offerings, there were few vendor-neutral conferences for AI developers. With the wide range of AI tools now available, there is a rich set of opportunities for developers to build new things (and to share ideas on how to build things!), but also a need for a neutral forum that helps developers do so. Based on an informal poll, about half the attendees had traveled to San Francisco from outside the Bay Area for this meeting, including many who had come from overseas. I was thrilled by the enthusiasm to be part of this AI Builder community. To everyone who came, thank you! Other aspects of the event that struck me: - First, agentic AI continues to be a strong theme. The topic attendees most wanted to hear about (based on free text responses to our in-person survey at the start of the event) was agents! - Google's Paige Bailey talked about embedding AI in everything and using a wide range of models to do so. I also particularly enjoyed her demos of Astra and Deep Research agents. - Meta's Amit Sangani talked compellingly as usual about open models. Specifically, he described developers fine-tuning smaller models on specific data, resulting in superior performance than with large general purpose models. While there're still many companies using fine-tuning that should really just be prompting, I'm also seeing continued growth of fine-tuning in applications that are reaching scale and that are becoming valuable. - Many speakers also spoke about the importance of being pragmatic about what problems we are solving, as opposed to buying into the AGI hype. For example, Nebius' Roman Chernin put it simply: Focusing on solving real problems is important! - Lastly, I was excited to hear continued enthusiasm for the Voice Stack. Justin Uberti gave a talk about OpenAI’s realtime audio API to a packed room, with many people pulling out laptops to try things out themselves in code! has a strong “Learner First” mentality; our foremost goal is always to help learners. I was thrilled that a few attendees told me they enjoyed how technical the sessions were, and said they learned many things that they're sure they will use. (In fact, I, too, came away with a few ideas from the sessions!) I was also struck that, both during the talks and at the technical demo booths, the rooms were packed with attendees who were highly engaged throughout the whole day. I'm glad that we were able to have a meeting filled with technical and engineering discussions. I'm delighted that AI Dev 25 went off so well, and am grateful to all the attendees, volunteers, speakers, sponsors, partners, and team members that made the event possible. I regretted only that the physical size of the event space prevented us from admitting more attendees this time. There is something magical about bringing people together physically to share ideas, make friends, and to learn from and help each other. 🇦🇺Adelaide MFA update🇦🇺 We have received more complaints than we can keep count of in the last few days, so we feel the need to address what has been going on. Planning our Australia Day marches has been an interesting experience, we've seemingly hit some bumps in nearly every state this time around. Thankfully, we've pushed through and managed to finalise all our locations other than Adelaide. As you all know, South Australia has always been the hardest state to secure an organiser. We had plenty of team members ready to go, but no suitable main organiser who was willing to dox themselves on permits, etc. We were determined not to give up, as we were getting tonnes of messages asking when the Adelaide location would be dropped. So instead, we put out a TBA flyer and kept trying. During this time, an opportunistic person, whom we've had several bad experiences and complaints about, decided to attempt to make himself the organiser AGAIN and attempt to hijack our Australia Day plans in Adelaide. This person is none other than Mark Aldridge, the man who slyly inserted himself in our August 31st march, got our organisers' name removed from the permits, publicly bagged our promotional material, and caused fights to break out at the event. He was clearly never aligned with our beliefs. He proceeded to badmouth our organisation to the media and even went to a leftist counter-protest against our October 19th event, where he was told to sit down and shut up by the organisers. Unfortunately, because Mark decided to again hijack our event (he has since changed the naming of it) whilst also changing the messaging by promoting multicultural Australia, telling people to take flags other than the Australian flag, running it under a political organisation, and asking for donations. We will need to make it very clear that we are not affiliated with Mark Aldridge or his event in any way at all. However, because he has decided to do this rally in the CBD, it unfortunately means we won't be able to, however, we now have an organiser and team and are looking at other locations and let me tell you, you're all going to love what we have planned, and it is only just out of the CBD with plenty of public transport available. Keep an eye out over the next few days for the Adelaide location drop, and let it be known that we will never be compromised and always do our best to keep our supporters happy.

Appreciation to Everyone who made the Fan Convention Possible. There are simply not enough words to express how grateful we are to everyone who became part of the Paint The Town Red Fan Convention. Over the course of two unforgettable days, we welcomed almost 1,500 attendees, with 1,200 meals distributed through the generous sponsorship of JLCENTERFLARES (ON HIATUS). Our journey began long before the event itself. Months of planning, revisions, sleepless nights, and endless preparations all led to this moment. But the real work started at 10:00 PM on 07/24, when our volunteers gathered to begin setting everything up. From that night until 4:00 AM on 07/27, after the final egress, they continued working almost nonstop. They sacrificed their sleep, endured physical exhaustion, carried heavy equipment, stood under the scorching heat for hours, and pushed through every challenge just to make sure every fan who walked into the venue had the best experience possible. As if the heat wasn’t enough, the first day ended with heavy rains that damaged parts of our setup and equipment. For a while, we honestly thought we wouldn’t be able to continue with Day 2. When we first submitted our proposal to SM MOA, we only had one dream: to promote JL and create a space where JL Stans could come together, celebrate, and simply enjoy being part of this community. To all our volunteers, thank you for choosing to serve instead of simply enjoying the event as fans. You gave your time, energy, and hearts without expecting anything in return. Whether you helped with setup, registration, crowd management, food distribution, cleanup, or behind-the-scenes tasks, every role mattered. This event would not have been possible without you. Flying back from Charlotte, I thought a lot about this weekend.. beeple was our Willy Wonka and created an amazing art factory event…. But it was more than an event. It was a small peak into our future.. My takeaway is this … We are not the same as traditional art yet we are very much connected … This event was a story in two parts… The first part was embracing the classic. A nod and ode to the museum/gallery exhibit… Part two was a chaotic immersive experience that was truly beautiful…. I think for me, what I get now, is we don’t need to run away. We need to embrace it all…. Art is art. The more we push our boundaries of a new creative technological renaissance we will bring in others who will see our vision… It will take a while. It won’t be easy. Last night was the first time I felt this. The first time I felt that we have a chance to be different but stay enough the same… I can see it now, 25 years from now at an underground extremely popular rave. The newest hottest artists enters wearing a hoodie that you can barely see their face except for the lollipop stick. They will emerge in the middle of the room rising from the floor. They will start to play a new score they composed that will include art they created with new advanced AI. They will create the art live in front of everyone. Suddenly, from the ceiling virtual little notes will fall and the people will have AR implants seeing these beautiful Vistula notes fall all around them. They will grab them with their hands and they will than use these digital notes to be able to buy the art and songs the artists is playing live. They will share the virtual notes with each other and save some for later. The artists will finish his work and disappear into the floor he came from. The crowd will go home and see if they were lucky enough to grab a golden note that gives them a special 1/1 song and art from the artist. The winner will than post it on socials, getting instant fame where that they can than tokenize the fame for themselves… the digital art renaissance is in full swing! That is the start of what we saw last night…. See, no one can see the future but we can live in it and not even realize we’re in the middle of it … Think about the changes you can make for this future and what footprint you can leave behind…. Think about how much time we really have to make any difference at all… This is how we build!

The Polymarket orderbook takes longer to reprice thin liquidity, market makers pulling quotes while they reassess. That window is the edge. Yesterday, first live test on Bayern vs Real (Champions League QF). 86th minute, Camavinga gets his second yellow. Pipeline receives the event from Sportradar 280ms after the card. “Bayern advances” market was at ~0.55. Model recomputes to ~0.68 post-red and fires a $500 order. Partial fill as expected: ~$180 caught around 0.55-0.57, the rest slipped to 0.63. Average 0.59. Market stabilized at 0.67 a few seconds later. Unrealized +$30. +6% in seconds. It’s a test. But the loop worked end to end detection, decision, fill, before the book caught up. What we learned: network latency is part of the problem. The real bottleneck is orderbook depth. We’re competing with sharp bots, not retail on their couch. And “next goal” markets have better spreads than qualification markets. Pivoting there. True Christians will “Cease to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge” (Proverbs 19:27). “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them” (Isaiah 8:20). It is time to leave these churches with ministers who refuse to give a clear message on what God calls abomination and are happy to see the next generation sacrificed to LGBTQ ideology. It is time to come out from under these ministers and pastors who join hands with those who are ardent opposers of the authority of the Holy Scripture.

Cerebras inference is very fast. So fast that it changes how we think about configuring our LLMs for voice agent use cases. Kimi K2.6 is a 1T parameter reasoning model that Cerebras serves at 650 - 1,000 tokens per second (end-to-end throughput), with time to first token metrics as low as 150ms (latency). These numbers are two to three times faster than other similarly capable models. The biggest lever we get from this kind of speed is that we can use the model in reasoning mode, and still have excellent "time to first non-thinking token." This solves a big pain point we have in 2026 for voice agent use cases. Almost all recent innovation in post-training has focused on making models good at reasoning ("test time compute"). This is great, but it makes the user-facing model latency much, much slower. Which is a problem for conversational voice agents. We can run Kimi K2.6 with reasoning turned on, and get responses faster than other models produce with reasoning disabled. On my 30-turn voice agent benchmark, Kimi K2.6 with reasoning enabled ties GPT 5.1 and Haiku 4.5 with reasoning disabled, and is still about 200ms seconds faster! On my primary task agent benchmark, Kimi K2.6 is now the #2 model. It ranks just behind Gemini 3.5 Flash in "high" reasoning mode, and tied with GLM 5, Sonnet 4.6, and GPT 5.4 with reasoning set to "low." But Kimi K2.6 completes each turn in the agent loop in under 500ms. The other four models are all at least 3x slower. (Models only qualify for this benchmark if they can complete task turns at a P50 <4s.) A couple of other things that this speed buys us, for production voice agents: - Tool calls happen fast enough that we don't have to work around tool call latency in our pipeline design. - We can prompt the model to output structured data at the beginning of a response, followed by plain text for voice generation. This opens up possibilities like asking the model to do complex classification/generation tasks that influence the rest of the pipeline. For example, the model could create a detailed style prompt for a steerable TTS model, for each individual conversation turn. And, of course, you can use Kimi K2.6 with reasoning turned off. Today we attended the second day of the convention held at Thomond Park in Limerick. There were violent scenes at the event. Professor Jane Suiter of Dublin City University, a key government pick for the event, violently smashed our phone to the ground when walking out. Jane Suiter is Full Professor in the School of Communications at Dublin City University. Her ‘research’ focuses on tackling ‘disinformation’. Suiter is director of DCU's Institute for Future Media, Democracy and Society. She has been deeply involved in previous government citizens’ assemblies. Adam Harris, brother of Tánaiste Simon Harris, was also present but refused to comment when questioned. Niall Muldoon, the Ombudsman for Children, was questioned on his advocacy for “gender-affirming care” as a priority for children — he remained silent. Muldoon had recently expressed dissatisfaction with his salary of €130,000, and has lobbied for an increase to €178,000 of taxpayer’s money. Also present at the event this weekend was Alan Hynes-Cendrzak, CEO of the Catholic Education Partnership. Established by the Irish Catholic Bishops, its aim is to provide “an authoritative and unified voice for Catholic education in the public forum.” Alan Hynes participated in the education convention in Limerick this weekend as facilitated by Caroline Gardner who lives in a “throuple” sexual relationship. When questioned today it was disturbing that Alan Hynes refused to respond. Alan Hynes and the Catholic Education Partnership (run by the Catholic Bishops of Ireland) have sought to place the responsibility for advocating for children’s education on parents. Meanwhile there has been a silence from the Bishops and Archbishops on the utter depravity being taught to children in our schools. The Chair of the National Convention on Education is Professor Anne Looney, the Executive Dean of DCU’s Institute of Education since 2019. Under her leadership DCU developed the first SPHE/RSE teacher training course which trains teachers ‘professionally’ in how to deliver sex education. This course includes sexually depraved content. A teacher who experienced the training said she felt the presence of Satan. Among much else the training includes an activity instructing children to write a detailed sex scene. There was a shameful cloak of secrecy over the entire convention in Limerick this weekend. The location was not revealed to the public. Attendees at the convention were instructed by the Chair Anne Looney not to share what anyone has said at the event outside the four walls. Extraordinary efforts were made to protect Anne Looney (Chair of the convention) and Caroline Gardner (CEO of Quality Matters and in a ‘throuple’) from facing any cameras or questions. There were no media present at the convention on either day. We phoned the RTÉ Education Correspondent Emma O’Kelly — she hung up after saying someone’s “private life” was not in the public interest. In this work, we extend our previous AC-MPC paper (Romero, ICRA'24) by taking a deeper look at how both approaches can be unified. We introduce and extend Actor-Critic Model Predictive Control (AC-MPC), a framework that embeds a differentiable MPC inside an Actor-Critic RL architecture. This integration allows the MPC-based actor to perform short-term predictive optimization, while the critic facilitates long-horizon learning and exploration. We conduct a comprehensive study that highlights AC-MPC’s key advantages: - Better out-of-distribution generalization, both against unknown disturbances and changes in the quadrotor dynamics - Improved sample efficiency - A novel empirical analysis uncovering a relationship between the critic’s value function and the MPC cost function, providing deeper insight into their interplay. We validate our method in simulation and the real world on a quadcopter flying at superhuman speeds of up to 21 m/s, matching state-of-the-art model-free RL performance, and retaining the predictive structure of MPC for more reliable out-of-distribution behavior.
