Watch this historic rocket launch into a monster EF4 #tornado by the Team Dominator science team! This marked the first ever recording of wind and thermodynamics in 3D inside of a #tornado. We launched the rocket in perfect position within the inflow notch of this rain-wrapped wedge tornado near Lawrence, Kansas, and tracked the parachute probe as it was carried through the #tornado. ChasinSpin is the scientist behind the sensors and live streaming technology that achieved success with this first launch. We recovered the sensor the next day using Facebook, with Matt DuBois and Jeremy Belk finding the probe in the front yard of a church in Leavenworth, over 30 miles away from the launch site. CurtisBrooks the rocket man broke his ankle with a Dominator 3 door slam the day before this launch, after designing the rockets and the rocket launcher. This was a huge milestone for Team Dominator self-funded #tornado science

I wish we could have intercepted the eye of this dust buster wedge #tornado northwest of Morton, Texas. I estimate 120 mph winds inside this broad tornado cyclone with stronger winds in any subvortices. This tornado seemed to have satellite vortices but not a lot of powerful subvortices evident, maybe due to a lack of cross isobaric flow with such a broad vortex LocalMan Weather Will Clay

These tires allow us to never stop chasing no matter what the terrain. We measured a 124 mph wind inside this tornado #stormchasing #Dominator
