Sunday thoughts with Beav. Buy time!!!! One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in my trading journey is how important it is to give yourself enough time when trading options. For a long time, I struggled with buying contracts that were too close to expiration, thinking I was being efficient, but all it really did was add stress and increase my risk. Options are a decaying product, and without enough time, even if you’re right on direction, you can still lose the trade by being wrong on timing. What I’ve come to realize is that time isn’t just an added cost—it’s protection. By choosing expirations with more time, I’ve given my trades room to breathe, reduced the pressure of short-term volatility, and allowed the probabilities to work in my favor. This shift hasn’t been overnight, but little by little I’m moving in a direction that feels safer, smarter, and ultimately more profitable.
