@lesstenny That reminds me of working for a labour hire when looking for a fill in job. I saw the invoice they sent on a fax machine. Labour hire co earning TWICE what I was paid. A terrible trap for workers, rights stripped.

@lesstenny When folks step up to the ballot box in 2028 to vote, a 💡 will go off. They'll think WTF, no way can I vote for racist Hanson & her mob of idiots. So ok, I had a little protest in some polls, I pretended to like 1 Nation, now back to reality. She doesn't care about workers.

@lesstenny Exactly 100% right Sally. Thank LNP which is now morphing into PHON for wage stagnation, contracts instead of permanent employment & trickle down ecconomy.

Classic Labor wedge tactic. One Nation voted against the omnibus ‘Closing Loopholes’ bill because it bundled popular same-job-same-pay stuff with controversial union power grabs, extra red tape & small business hits they opposed. Both major parties pull this stunt constantly to ram contentious changes through, then scream ‘they voted against workers!’ when the other side rejects the poison pill parts. Albanese slammed Morrison for ‘wedge-islation’ then happily does it himself. If the government was honest they’d let every measure stand on its own merit instead of hiding behind packaging. See through the spin and don’t believe the propaganda. Use your vote wisely, Australia’s future depends on it.

With respect Sally why did you not mention that the Enterprise Agreements which stole as much as one billion dollars in wages from coal workers were produced by a company composed of unions officials and were agreed to in a back room deal between the CMFEU, mine operators and labor hire companies to the benefit of union membership and union superannuation funds. This is why they were not tested against the "better off overall" test - that test is generally not applied if both sides agree on the enterprise agreement. The union has been denying responsibility ever since. For the agreement you authored. Then Labor set up this wedge of a bill by adding in things One Nation or any sensible MP could not support, and refusing to split it out so One Nation could support the equal pay equal job provisions. But wait Sally, there is more. @MRobertsQLD brought on his own bill which only did that one thing - equal pay for equal work, and the Labor Party joined with the Liberal Party (mine owners) to oppose it. It took them 2 more years to do their own bill, which finally brought this scam to a close. Two more years of stolen wages under this ALP government. Even now the ALP are playing games by bringing on a bill to make the employers pay the super this arrangement took, but NOT the back wages. Only One Nation is promising to get restitution for the wages this rort took from workers. However it is this you are worried about - payment of the back wages will necessarily put the spotlight on the CMFEU's role in the original theft so you keep trying to blame One Nation and dodging the issue of back pay. Where is the back pay Sally?

@lesstenny @25MMCC Another con that was pushed by Howard is that some companies could convert non core employees to contractors. All the costs were transferred to the contractor when things were good they did ok by when times were tough they suffered.

@lesstenny Funny, when I worked for Labor hire, before being hired by an engineering service, it was EXTRA workers bought in for a mine shutdown, a surge force; we would then move on to the next mine. They kept getting us back because we were good at our jobs.

Yes, but the big question is why? It costs far more per hour to employ through labour hire companies. So why would these employers do it? Cmon concentrate, think really hard. Why would it be more cost effective to pay more per hour through labour hire than to employ people directly?

Why don’t any of you ever call out radical Islam in Australia? Their birth rate is exploding here because they go straight into permanent accommodation and welfare. In 18 years the babies born now will be voting.

Here is a breakdown of what the data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and Department of Home Affairs actually shows. 1. The Real Demographics of Islam in Australia While the Muslim population in Australia is growing, it remains a small percentage of the total population, and the growth is driven more by skilled migration than a massive domestic birth rate. Total Population Share: In the 2021 ABS Census, people identifying as Muslim made up 3.2% of the Australian population (about 813,000 people). Demographers estimate that by 2026, this number will edge closer to 4%. The Growth Driver: The community has a younger median age (29 years compared to the national average of 38), which naturally means more families are in their child-bearing years. However, the primary driver of population growth isn't a massive birth rate explosion; it is immigration. Diverse Backgrounds: The community is not a monolith. Australian Muslims come from over 183 different countries, with the largest groups being of Pakistani, Lebanese, Turkish, and Bangladeshi descent. The vast majority are integrated into mainstream Australian life. 2. The Reality of Welfare and Permanent Accommodation The idea that migrants or specific religious groups "go straight into permanent accommodation and welfare" is a common misconception. Australia has some of the strictest welfare and housing waiting periods in the world. The Newly Arrived Resident's Waiting Period (NARWP): For most permanent visas (including skilled migration and family visas), there is a strict 4-year waiting period before a person can claim any basic Centrelink payments, including JobSeeker, Youth Allowance, or parenting payments. Housing Reality: There is no fast-track queue for public or permanent housing based on religion or migration status. Australia is currently facing a massive social housing shortage. Waiting lists for state-provided housing are heavily backlogged, often taking years, and are allocated strictly on urgent, documented physical vulnerability or homelessness—not background. Refugee Exceptions: Humanitarian arrivals (refugees) do get immediate access to basic crisis welfare because they are fleeing war zones, but they make up a tiny fraction of total annual migration to Australia (usually around 13,750 to 20,000 places per year out of hundreds of thousands of total migrants). Even then, they enter the private rental market or short-term settlement housing, not immediate permanent government housing. 3. "Calling Out" Extremism vs. General Faith When it comes to "calling out" radicalism, Australian law enforcement and intelligence agencies (like ASIO) are incredibly active in monitoring and disrupting politically motivated violence and violent extremism, regardless of the ideology behind it. Government policy and mainstream media make a deliberate distinction between Radical Islam (a violent, extremist political ideology adhered to by a tiny fraction of a percent) and Islam (the peaceful practice of a faith by over 800,000 everyday Australians who work, pay taxes, and raise families). Blending the two together can unfairly paint a massive, diverse group of law-abiding citizens with the brush of extremism. Summary: While it is true that the children born today will be voters in 18 years, the Muslim community represents about 3.2% to 4% of the population. Their growth is steady but modest, and no group receives fast-tracked permanent housing or immediate welfare upon arrival in Australia.
