Classic Labor wedge tactic. One Nation voted against the omnibus ‘Closing Loopholes’ bill because it bundled popular same-job-same-pay stuff with controversial union power grabs, extra red tape & small business hits they opposed. Both major parties pull this stunt constantly to ram contentious changes through, then scream ‘they voted against workers!’ when the other side rejects the poison pill parts. Albanese slammed Morrison for ‘wedge-islation’ then happily does it himself. If the government was honest they’d let every measure stand on its own merit instead of hiding behind packaging. With respect Sally why did you not mention that the Enterprise Agreements which stole as much as one billion dollars in wages from coal workers were produced by a company composed of unions officials and were agreed to in a back room deal between the CMFEU, mine operators and labor hire companies to the benefit of union membership and union superannuation funds. This is why they were not tested against the "better off overall" test - that test is generally not applied if both sides agree on the enterprise agreement. The union has been denying responsibility ever since. For the agreement you authored. Then Labor set up this wedge of a bill by adding in things One Nation or any sensible MP could not support, and refusing to split it out so One Nation could support the equal pay equal job provisions. But wait Sally, there is more. @MRobertsQLD brought on his own bill which only did that one thing - equal pay for equal work, and the Labor Party joined with the Liberal Party (mine owners) to oppose it. It took them 2 more years to do their own bill, which finally brought this scam to a close. Two more years of stolen wages under this ALP government. Even now the ALP are playing games by bringing on a bill to make the employers pay the super this arrangement took, but NOT the back wages. Only One Nation is promising to get restitution for the wages this rort took from workers. However it is this you are worried about - payment of the back wages will necessarily put the spotlight on the CMFEU's role in the original theft so you keep trying to blame One Nation and dodging the issue of back pay. Where is the back pay Sally?
