Luckily we have lots of traditional Fish & Chip shops in the North West x

You pay that just for the fish and chips down here in Cornwall . That’s before any extras 😂

But is it traditional fish and chips though?

Of course 😂. Literally cannot get fresher

We got 2 fish and chips earlier and it was £22 so what your paying isnt bad Vic, but the thing is as well ,we used to get 2 bits of fish but everywhere is cutting it back to one ffs Enjoy your fish and chips Vic

Maybe because the traditional people are not supporting the chippy as much. They can’t afford to stay open full time when bulk of business is only done on a Friday 🤷🏽♂️ Get more traditional people buying everyday of the week?

Admitedly we ate in but this was the price of Fish & Chips in Seahouses (Northumberland) last week. The price was about the same for all 3 traditional chippies in the small seaside town, this was the cheapest. It was good but very expensive!

I remember when I was a young kid, paying 50p for chips with my sister while we waited for my mum to finish work.. great days😂

Come to north east Scotland there's plenty of traditional chippies

i totally agree there vic 27 quid ripp off

Voice so perfect should come manchester

My local chippy does cod and chips for £7 which is quite reasonable I think

Come up north then?

Traditional chippie here about 2 minutes walk from my gaff. In fairness the price of oil, potatoes and fish have gone through the roof. Most are genuine price rises due to costs, but there may be a bit of profiteering going on. As per usual in England

We have one, it’s great, but no cheaper! ☺️

I agree.

Move to north Lincolnshire we have loads of fish and chips shops 😋

We do have a few in Windsor. Decent quality, decent prices. Good ol’ stuff.

If it’s good it’s worth waiting for 😊

At least you’ve had a rant with a smile on your face still…I’ve turned in to Victor Meldrew these days…you’re spot on about the de-traditionalisation of this country…and then the price of fish n chips is disgusting…we are being ripped off left right and centre these days 🤬

Spot on!

Shirley in Solihull, we have a fair few of them x

I wouldn’t say it’s exactly a traditional place, but Rumbles in Brackley is not bad. Yes they cook to order, so sometimes it takes 10 mins or so. Last time I bought for me, it was just over £11 for cod, chips and mushy peas. Portions are big, so I tend to order medium.

I sent you a voice note regarding this

Where l am in Manchester there are at least 3 maybe 4 within two miles of where l live. My favourite, is almost as you described, two fryers churning out the chips as fast as he can, piles of fish waiting for you, queues outside the door. It’ll be nice to see you in a couple of weeks time

Lots of british chippys still around in the north but not as many as there used to be. Haddock, chips and peas at my local is £13. Kebab shops outnumber chippies 10- 1. My uncle owned a chippy in Ramsbottom many years ago sold it to Chinese.

Enjoy your meals 😊

lol, times have changed and everything is so expensive! We here in 🇺🇸Wisconsin have a fish fry on fridays and we can get different sides like potato pancakes or fries etc, it’s a traditional thing! Good Luck ❤️

🤔 .... Gonna need that rant in French mademoiselle ..... ✔️🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣😉 #ifUknowUknow

South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire- we've plenty.

You looking in the wrong plaice !!! Boom boom !

£9 for fish and chips in my local chippy up the road. If I go down to the Barbican (waterfront area, 20 minutes walk away) it’s a bit more. Especially as the grockles have started showing up for the summer. I feel your pain though. Pre Covid it was £6. I guess energy costs etc have all gone up. Hope you enjoyed it 😊

You can in Suffolk @CheekyVic plenty of traditional fish and chip shops

I hope it was worth it, as most chip shops do now they cook when you order.

You speak on behalf of the nation Vic🤗 Only you can rant cheekily👍🏼

Then have traditional fish and chips
