American taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be paying to rebuild Venezuela’s oil infrastructure. It's going to cost billions, and the only people who truly profit from it are the oil companies, not American families that are already paying too much at the pump. If oil companies want to invest in Venezuela’s oil infrastructure, they can do it with their own money. That’s why I’m introducing legislation to make clear that U.S. taxpayer dollars cannot be used to do it. Our priority should be investing here at home, building energy we control, lowering costs for families, and ending our dependence on foreign oil, not propping up oil infrastructure abroad.

French President Emmanuel Macron said he plans to formalize his country's decision to recognize Palestinian statehood at the U.N. next week in New York because “recognizing the Palestinian state today is the only way to provide a political solution to a situation which has to stop.” Macron said the release of Israeli hostages is not a condition for recognition, but told Margaret Brennan it will be a “requirement” by France “very clearly,” before the country would open an embassy in a Palestinian state.
