At approximately 1:50am past midnight, a 9-year-old child was spotted outside Quickmart Supermarket in Kilimani near Hurlingham, being used by an adult woman to beg for money from members of the public. I approached them with the intention of rescuing the child and taking her to a children’s home for safety. However, the woman-whom the child refers to as her “auntie” quickly lied to her, telling the young girl that I am a bad person. The child, confused and frightened, ran away with her before any help could reach her.
