Children are not old enough to give their informed consent for puberty blockers, and they are not medically necessary; the children can receive safe and evidence-based treatments for anxiety, such as family-based cognitive-behavioral therapy, and gender anxiety goes away for the vast majority of children once they go through puberty. Earlier this year, psychiatrist and former Tavistock gender clinic board member, David Bell, argued that the UK law demands that experiments minimize potential interference with a child’s “state of development.” And yet it is with a child’s “state of development” that puberty blockers are meant to interfere. The experiment will not allow the doctors or children to be “double-blind,” or ignorant of whether they are getting the chemical or a placebo. It is easy to imagine how doctors biased toward puberty blockers would treat the children receiving them in ways that might temporarily boost their mental health and distort self-reporting. And it is based on a pseudo-scientific ideology that posits the existence of a non-entity called “gender identity” in children’s brains. And, finally, the UK government already declared puberty blockers to be risky last year, which is why it prevented any doctor, not just those in the NHS, from prescribing them. The UK government says the lack of evidence for puberty blockers is why it must study them, and it was the author of last year’s report on trans medicine, pediatrician Hilary Cass, a Baroness in the House of Lords, who agreed to these experiments. Her review found the evidence for their benefits was weak and the potential for negative effects was unclear. She thus recommended clinical trials, noting that some clinicians, children, and families felt the drugs were beneficial. There are reports that Mission Hospital in Asheville North Carolina was told today, that they will be the morgue for body recovery. As of a few days ago, there were reports of 900+ bodies at the hospital that haven’t been identified. There are also reports of babies and children washing up in the river, and more reports of bodies in trees. An insurance agent Hana’s teammates went to drop off supplies in Asheville and set up relief tents yesterday. While setting up they saw four babies, three children as well as adult bodies that were recovered from the mud and trees. National guard member Breona Bryant has also mentioned that they are seeing dead children. Those doing rescue operations are traumatized and many survivors of the storm are suffering from survivors guilt.

I’m afraid I have some terrible news. The governor of America’s largest and richest state has just signed a law that puts 10 million children and adolescents in grave danger of medical mistreatment. The media headlines have it wrong. They claim that California Governor Gavin Newsom’s new law protects children by stopping public schools from outing their new gender to their parents. It does just the opposite. It makes children vulnerable to irreversible and lifelong medical abuse and mistreatment. And it is all based on the pseudoscientific idea that some children are born into the wrong bodies and that we can change a person’s sex through drugs and surgery. For any of this to make sense, you have to understand what’s happening in Britain. Several years ago, the government appointed a well-respected pediatrician named Hillary Cass to investigate whether it was ethical to block the puberty of children, give them opposite-sex hormones, and perform surgeries on their bodies to make them feel better about their gender. Dr. Cass came back a few weeks ago and said no, absolutely not. Around the same time, the British government banned puberty blockers nationwide. And, just a few days ago, the new Labor Party government affirmed that it would maintain the former government’s ban. In her report, Cass said that the so-called “social transition,” whereby a child adopts the identity of the opposite sex, is not a neutral act and has psychological consequences. This means it is the first step toward medical intervention. What Gavin Newsom has done is actively prevented schools from informing parents that their children have been put on a medical pathway. This is an outrageous attack on the rights of children and parents. Children have a right to go through puberty. No adult should be able to block their puberty. And parents have a right to know if their child thinks that they are the opposite sex or were born into the wrong body. We have seen with leaked internal documents of the leading gender medicine group, WPATH, that these medical interventions, namely puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery, are not only irreversible but result in sterilization and loss of sexual function. Children or adolescents are simply not mature enough to understand the effects of so-called “gender-affirming care.” They cannot, in other words, give their informed consent. The new law creates the grave risk that activist teachers, students, and outside groups will convince their children that they were born into the wrong body, and hide their “social transition” from parents, which will lead to harmful medical mistreatment. As such, the law that Newsom just signed is the opposite of what both children and their parents need. We need schools to immediately warn parents if their children think they are the opposite sex. After all, this is a diagnosable psychiatric condition known as “gender dysphoria.” And if your child has a psychiatric disorder, whether anxiety, depression, an eating disorder, or gender dysphoria, you have a right to know. And schools must stop teaching children, or allowing other people to teach children, the pseudoscientific and dehumanizing ideas that it’s possible to be born into the wrong body and possible to change one’s sex. As such, either the legislature, the courts, or a ballot initiative will be required to nullify Newsom’s law. Until then, it is important to spread the word to parents that California public schools are fundamentally unsafe for the millions of children who attend them.

My name is Chris Elston, and I’m here to speak for children being irreversibly harmed by health professionals practicing what is falsely referred to as gender-affirming care. It is not caring to stop the development of children with puberty blockers. These are repurposed chemical castration and cancer drugs. It is not caring to alter their development with opposite-sex hormones. Every systematic review of the scientific literature shows that children are being harmed, and that scientific rigour is non-existent. Activist organizations pushing ideology have hijacked the medical community, and what is being done is nothing more than a live, unregulated experiment on kids. It is one of the great deceptions of our time to teach children that they might have been born in the wrong bodies! Affirming care would be to tell them that they are beautiful just as they are. No drugs or scalpels needed! Instead, children are being sterilized, and are having healthy body parts cut off. Overwhelmingly, these kids are autistic, have other mental health comorbidities, and many have suffered trauma or abuse. Girls as young as 12 are having their breasts removed, and 16-year-old boys are being castrated. State encroachment on parental rights is worsening outcomes. Here in Geneva, a child was taken from her parents because they refuse to transition her. Children have the human right to grow up with their bodies intact. It is time the Member States of the United Nations use the resolutions, procedures, and other tools at their disposal to stop this child abuse!

When trans activists claim that the drugs euphemistically called "puberty blockers" are "safe and reversible," they are lying to the public. Even experts who criticize the administration of these drugs to children often say, "there is limited research" regarding long-term effects. Yes, research on children is limited, and no long-term follow-up research is currently being required in the US. Yet there are plenty of horrifying reports from adults. Women have been given "puberty blocker" Lupron for a variety of issues - including IVF, surrogacy, and early puberty. (Lupron, like all "puberty blocking" drugs, is classified as a GnRH agonist.) The side effects have been horrendous - debilitating pain, early menopause, and brittle bones. Some women have reported their teeth falling out and their jaw bones detaching. Lupron was developed for the treatment of prostate cancer in men. When it failed to improve the health of dying men, it was pushed onto women, who have been suffering horrendously for decades while being ignored by mainstream media. A drug developed for terminally ill men, which is also used to castrate convicted male pedophiles, is being given to women and to healthy children. This is a failed, category X cancer drug being repurposed for profit. Lupron is only given to men when they are dying or as a punishment, but the drug is called "life-saving" for children. By 2019, the US FDA had received over 25,000 adverse event reports for Lupron products including more than 1500 deaths. This clip is from 2009 and features the investigative reporting of Darcy Spears who has repeatedly tried to bring awareness of this medical scandal. Society at large did not care that this was happening to women, and a result of this medical scandal being neglected is that both women and children are being irreparably harmed.

When a preschooler is being socially transitioned, changing names, pronouns, clothing, and being told they are the opposite sex, those decisions aren’t coming from a 4-year-old’s understanding of biology. They’re coming from the adults around that child. Parents make the appointments. Parents change the paperwork. Parents speak to teachers. Parents guide every step. Young children trust the adults in their lives completely. That’s why adults have an enormous responsibility to be careful about the ideas they introduce. A child can believe in Santa Claus, monsters under the bed, or imaginary friends because children naturally rely on trusted adults to explain the world. That dependence is exactly why we should be cautious about making life-altering decisions during the earliest years of development. Children deserve time to grow, explore, and mature without being placed on a path they may not fully understand. Protect childhood. Let kids be kids.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we remember my speech at the United Nations Human Rights Council. My name is Chris Elston, and I am to here to speak for children being irreversibly harmed by health professionals practicing what is falsely referred to as gender-affirming care. It is not caring to stop the development of children with puberty blockers. These are repurposed chemical castration and cancer drugs. It is not caring to alter their development with opposite-sex hormones. Every systematic review of the scientific literature shows that children are being harmed, and that scientific rigour is non-existent. Activist organizations pushing ideology have hijacked the medical community, and what is being done is nothing more than a live, unregulated experiment on kids. It is one of the great deceptions of our time to teach children that they might have been born in the wrong bodies! Affirming care would be to tell them that they are beautiful just as they are. No drugs or scalpels needed! Instead, children are being sterilized, and are having healthy body parts cut off. Overwhelmingly, these kids are autistic, have other mental health comorbidities, and many have suffered trauma or abuse. Girls as young as 12 are having their breasts removed, and 16-year-old boys are being castrated. State encroachment on parental rights is worsening outcomes. Here in Geneva, a child was taken from her parents because they refuse to transition her. Children have the human right to grow up with their bodies intact. It is time the Member States of the United Nations use the resolutions, procedures, and other tools at their disposal to stop this child abuse!

Most of these children were forcibly relocated deeper into occupied territory — to Crimea — while others were deported to Russia. Ukrainian children are not toys, although it seems that for Russian elites and officials they are. Behind each of these children is a life that must not be lost, a future that must not be ruined.
