What Kemi isn’t telling you is that she is advocating for Digital ID and lack of anonymity online by saying this.

We’re obsessed with banning things. Seems to be the answer to everything. Can no one think of any other solutions?

Can we ban the computer hacker from TV channels?

How about the parents doing it, if they want, and the state staying the fuck out of their lives?

all you parents have to do is say "NO" to your child when they want a smart phone

Children are getting raped by grooming gangs and undocumented foreign invaders. How about concentrating on that ?

Terrible idea that won’t stop kids communicating online but will force everyone to submit their personal data to access communication forums . A precursor to the push for digital ID

I genuinely can’t fathom people having an issue with this. It literally impacts and stunts brain development. Parents are not parenting and protecting their children. Social media is so harmful to growing kids and as Kemi rightly says is developed and designed to be addictive

We dont need government over reach to bring up our children. Nor the government wasting money we havent got, for projects the kids would have a work around in an hour, if they really wanted to bypass controls. Its about control, and we are not interested, thanks but no thanks.

@Conservatives didn't learn a thing by getting dumped at the last election. The uni-party wants to control you. I'll vote for freedom of choice - small government - low taxes - cutting the red tape - and a government who will get out of our lives and get out of the way.

You can now just look at Australia just to see how much of a stupid and farcical idea it is.

I'm a writer in Japan who works to raise awareness about smartphone addiction. I agree with this opinion! Social media is bad for children. It's a serious problem worldwide. We need to do a digitaldetox. It's enough for kids to just contact their parents via Dumbphone #bbclaurak

@bbclaurak Badenoch can’t avoid telling the public your party’s stance on Greenland because you deem it a ‘secondary’ issue. But by not answering we have to guess the Conservatives are in favour of Trump annexing a NATO partner’s territory. That is not only spineless it’s sickening

Yet Kemi is happy to go into schools and tell students that University is very overrated and that they should consider apprenticeships, that immigrants are all criminals and should be deported by an ICE-style force.

Conservatives are just as bad as labour, banning everything isn't the answer to the problems, both the uniparty repeat the same rhetoric!.

@KemiBadenoch I would have considered voting but this is the UK and not China. Moddy Coddling and Nanny state. Reform it is.

Lightweight political thinker. Had no thoughtful or progressive ideas on issues on the pressing questions of world politics and defending her ignorance with lack of access in information….her response to digital is naive and simplistic based around her own family members.

Is that because she didn't use social media when she was under 16? Oh that's right, she lived in Nigeria!

These bans ignore all the good that smartphones provide to many teenagers - access to friends, to knowledge and to help.

Funny how the party that could not fix schools, policing, councils or growth now says it will “fix” parenting by banning the under 16s from the modern world.
