@BBCNuala I would urge @Keir_Starmer and @wesstreeting to listen to @ChildrensComm and @catrionamoore13 here to get a sense of what parents are up against when applying for EHCPs before being quite so dismissive of some parents’ concerns about forthcoming VAT on school fees.

@BBCNuala The last comment from the lady in the audience "not if you're an academy." Let that ring in your ears government as these settings have little to no accountability to local communities or parents as well as making it so difficult for many CYP with SEND to attend.

@BBCNuala I see our family represented with every statement. I had cancer 8 years ago and that was nothing compared to the stress of having to navigate the SEND system to get our daughter the support she needs. It shouldn’t be this way.

@BBCNuala Great coverage and the young girl is very articulate Often these children that can advocate for themselves are ignored by proffesionals This crisis also ruins many relationships between familes and the parents who are also vunerable
