China Black - Searching (1994) Forgotten about this pop-reggae 90s classic. Loved it. First released in 1992 by independent record label Big One, it was then picked up by Polydor's subsidiary label Wildcard. Its re-release in '94 on the new label saw it fly to #4 in the UK.

We couldn't get it signed, one label said it would never sell because the song starts with a vocal, and many of the execs never bothered to listen it. Then, it landed on Simon Bate's desk on his Radio 1 Breakfast Show and also the Gary Crowley show on the BBC, it just went mental, the song was being picked up everywhere. It was an instant hit becoming #1 across the world including the US (Billboard Hot 100) making it the first debut single since The Beatles to achieve that chart position. "I’m Too Sexy" has reached the #1 spot in the US on the Billboard 100 four times now due to the re-works by Taylor Swift, Drake and Beyoncé.
