Live from the Sokoto–Badagry road corridor, construction activities are fully ongoing as the entire route has been cleared from Illela Local Government Area through Silame Local Government Area in Sokoto State, extending toward the Kebbi State axis. The massive clearance work marks a major step in opening up the corridor for full-scale construction activities. Contractors are actively on the ground across the axis, preparing the alignment for subsequent stages of road construction. This continuous stretch will form a vital link connecting Sokoto State to Kebbi State as part of the larger Sokoto–Badagry (Lagos) road network. The ongoing works reflect steady progress on this strategic national infrastructure, which is expected to enhance connectivity, ease the movement of goods and people, and support economic growth across the states along the corridor. Further live updates will be shared as construction advances.

President William Ruto inspects section 1 of the 257 km Lamu-Ijara-Garissa road (LAPSSET corridor), which was previously a gravel road and is now being upgraded to tarmac under his directive. So far, 20 km has been tarmacked from Garissa and 5 km from Lamu, with the road set to connect with Isiolo and eventually reach Ethiopia. This upgrade aims to strengthen the transport corridor, boosting trade, mobility, and economic growth as President Ruto continues his efforts to improve access to the long-neglected roads of the North Eastern region.

Took just 36 mins to travel 150 km from Shanghai to Hangzhou in an absolutely neat 🚄 At 300+ km/h, the train was smoother than most flights. China’s high-speed rail now connects 97% of cities a network spanning 50,000+ km, bigger than the rest of the world combined. (P.S. Spain is a distant second at ~4,000 km.)

It’s incredible the success China’s Haidilao US has achieved in the US! This is China’s most famous hotpot restaurant and it has opened numerous outlets across the West coast of North America. From Vancouver to LA and here in San Diego where my family and I are spending the New Year holiday, always fun to visit Hai Di Lao! Amazing food and service! Brings back so many great memories of China 😃
