Meet Xiang Lee (China). Xiang is going to be the first opponent for Samuel (Nigeria) in the 2044 Olympics Men Table Tennis event (20 years from today). Samuel however is currently rolling tyres in Ojuelegba. Samuel will only pick up a table tennis bat in 2041 and will desperately pray for a miraculous event that will happen in 2043 when someone in the NOC chooses him to go represent Nigeria. 3 days before the Xiang-Samuel game, all of Samuel’s family will embark on 1-day dry fasting and prayer session calling on the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Prophecies will be given. Seeds will be sown. Samuel will lose the game. Embarrassingly. And then we’d all lament on our poor preparedness as a nation for 2 weeks after the Olympics, quickly move on on Social Media to talk about the BigBrother Gbeskele Edition (2044) and pray that a miracle happens for us in the 2048 Olympics.

It has nothing to do with Chinese or race, it’s basic priorities, if you spend your time raising a generation of kids who want to be yahoo boys & girls, vocal artists (I don’t call them musicians) and internet influencers, seeing stuff like this will make you think the chines are doing something magical.
