LANDMARK US-UK RESEARCH SAYS CHINA IS NOT TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD Top scholars in the US and the UK just published a landmark discovery: China is NOT trying to take over the world. In perhaps the most important geopolitics paper I've seen this year, the journal of International Security features a paper in which extensive research examined data from 12,000 Chinese articles and speeches and came to an astonishing conclusion: China has NO plan to replace the US as self-appointed leader of the world. It also has NO plan to force anyone else to copy its system of governance, unlike the west. This is terrible news for Apple Daily’s Mark Clifford (a Gordon Chang clone) – who wrote a whole book saying that China was actively working to remodel the whole world in its image. (China doesn't even insist on its model of governance in its country -- the place is full of special economic zones experimenting with other ways of governances.) . NOT A MILITARY THREAT Also important: the newly published International security paper says that China is NOT a military threat. “China does not pose the type of military threat that the conventional wisdom claims it does," the researchers say. "Thus, a hostile U.S. military posture in the Pacific is unwise and may unnecessarily create tensions.” . CHINA LOOKS INWARD In fact, this paper says almost exactly what this commentator and many others have been saying, literally, for years, in almost the same words. China does NOT have the western insistence on ruling the world – instead, it wants to maintain its borders and have positive relationships with other countries. “China's aims are unambiguous, enduring, and limited: It cares about its borders, sovereignty, and foreign economic relations,” the paper says. . COLBY IS WRONG China’s legal land area includes Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, and Xinjiang, and it just wants to keep them. That’s all. The article quotes Elbridge Colby, now Deputy Secretary of Defense, envisioning China subjugating Taiwan and then picking out further targets to take over, including the Philippines and Vietnam. That is simply wrong, the researchers say. China has never made the slightest indication that it wants to take control of other countries. (And of course some newspapers reported that China wants to invade Australia!) . NOT PROPAGANDA This very lengthy paper in the journal of International Security is not, I repeat NOT, some sort of “pro-China propaganda”. The article is written by two US-based political scientists and one UK-based academic. The writers are in fact rather harsh about China, and recycle the endless trope implying that China is the world capital of human rights abuses (which it clearly isn't), and says that China is doing terrible things in the South China Sea – which is also not true. The writers do seem to have sucked up lots of the anti-China propaganda themselves. So that makes their work, which shows clearly that China is NOT a threat to the world, more valuable. Anything that has to do with Ghana or any African nation and China, I hate it. China can never be our partner for development. You may have your issues with the US and the UK but at least most of the African people who are successful today either schooled or worked in the US or UK. The US may bully you in trade but will still provide education and good working environment for your citizens in the US. Name some successful Africans who made their fortunes staying in CHINA..... I'm waiting. 24 hour economy MOU with CHINA, asɛm oo.

CNN: He claimed that China builds a lot of wind turbines and manufactures them for others, but refuses to use it itself, barely uses wind power. In fact, China is the world leader in the use of wind power. It is building additional wind power in China far faster than the pace at which the U.S. Is building in the United States itself. So the idea that China is just, you know, foisting this terrible source of energy on other countries while refusing to use it is a reversal of reality.

Hard to believe these are from BBC: China is the biggest manufacturer in the world. China is leading in renewable... electric vehicles, solar panels, wind turbines, electric batteries. China makes more robots than anywhere else in the world. China has and processes more rare earth than anywhere else in the world. China doesn't demand you adopt its ideology. China didn’t ask countries to choose between China and the United States. In China, you have high-speed trains that can transport you from one side of the country to the other. China is a safe country. I could go for a run at 3:00 in the morning. I could put a bag full of money in a coffee shop, and it would still be there hours later. People are friendly, the food is nice...

Everyone is calling out Tom Cotton for being racist and ignorant in calling out the CEO of TikTok for potentially being China. But all of the arguments I've seen miss an importance underlying point. Cotton has been to Singapore and likely knew Shou Zi Chew was Singaporean. Cotton was trying to normalize having to distance oneself from China and the CPC. Given around 90% of Chinese people support the CPC in China, this is dangerous. People shouldn't have to prove they are not associating with China or the CPC. Every president of the US and the leaders of every major international company maintain close ties with business partners in China and with leaders in the CPC. We can not let Tom Cotton normalize not having good relations with China and the Communist Party of China. The fact is we need more American leaders at every level to have better relationships with China and its leadership. It's called diplomacy. #China #CottonIsAnIdiot

If Xi Jinping says that China is going to war, the question is who will China go to war with. The reasonable thing is that it is Taiwan and indirectly the US that is the enemy. China and North Korea are preparing their citizens for war while the US seems to live in some form of denial. I am convinced that the US is preparing militarily for a conflict. Govt just confirmed £380m of funding, Peter Kyle tells me there it is exactly the sort of development needed for resilience and to avoid reliance in Chinese battery supply chains… At the same time he says that Britain “should not fear” this rise of China, that there are parallels with Japan’s car export surge in the 1990s and he’d “absolutely welcome” investment in UK factories from China… he suggests that right now this is the focus, after his two visits to China. Partly this surge in the UK is a result of the UK not levying extra tariffs unlike the EU and US… Canada rowed back on some of these tariffs (subject to quota) after Carney visited.
