There are everyday heroes everywhere. A bystander is being praised after stepping in to protect a 12-year-old boy during a frightening encounter with a dog. According to reports, the man quickly placed himself between the child and the animal, helping prevent the situation from becoming more serious. op: @globixanews

The condition of the Dele-Yes-Sir/Oke-Fia road in Òṣogbo is becoming increasingly worrisome. Despite the palliative repairs previously carried out, potholes along this route continue to expand daily, making movement difficult for motorists, commercial transport operators, and other road users. As one of the major roads within Òṣogbo, this corridor deserves a lasting solution rather than repeated temporary fixes. We call on the Osun State Government and relevant agencies to urgently assess the road and commence comprehensive rehabilitation works to prevent further deterioration, reduce accidents, and ease the hardship faced by residents and commuters. A durable intervention today will save road users from avoidable losses and ensure safer, smoother transportation for everyone. #InsideOsogbo

$What if I told you we could make crossing the road easier, more comfortable, and make walking more attractive for short journeys? What if I told you this could be done at a fraction of the cost of the usual way, by using "simplified" or "side road" zebra crossings? What if I told you the studies have shown they have high levels of compliance, even without the usual Belisha beacons? What if I told you the presence of these simplified crossings is merely reinforcing pedestrian priority already detailed within the Highway Code updates? What if I told you civil servants and Government ministers use them every day (the video shown is outside the Department for Transport offices), but only because one local authority decided to take a risk and try them out (credit Westminster City Council), despite official guidance not permitting them. What if I told you they could cost as little as £300, compared to between £50,000-£100,000 for a full zebra crossing with Belisha beacons. What if I told you they were already commonplace all across Europe? What if I told you, starting March 11, 2026, Welsh local authorities can install simplified zebra crossings at side road junctions in 20mph zones? (because: Devolution) It's about time England got a move on and permitted them through updating The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. The Government could also publish the long-awaited Manual for Streets 3, while they were at it.$

For anyone who works from references a lot, Dreamina Canvas quietly added something pretty useful. Extract Motion takes a video and pulls out the character motion and spatial depth, so you can use the movement as a foundation without recreating the original scene. Simple idea. Very practical. The Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) conducted a midnight enforcement operation along the Lekki–Ajah Expressway to apprehend miscreants and hoodlums who have been constituting a nuisance and posing a threat to motorists and other road users. The operation was targeted at individuals who allegedly harass and intimidate motorists, extort money from them, and, in some instances, damage vehicles when motorists refuse to yield to their demands. The RRS will continue to sustain intelligence-led operations and enforcement actions against criminal elements whose activities threaten public safety and disrupt the free movement of people and vehicles across the State. #ZeroToleranceLagos

A simple solution to keep our streets clean ♻️ Instead of bottles and cans ending up in the wrong place, you now can leave them on these new bin surrounds, making it easy anyone to pick them up, recycle, and get the deposit back. I’ve seen these bin surrounds working well across Europe so pitched the idea to Dublin City Council and worked closely with the North Inner City task force and council officials to make it happen. Let's get these in Dún Laoghaire next!

Among the Hamer Tribe of southern Ethiopia, cattle are deeply connected to survival, status, and daily life, and in some traditional practices people may consume warm air or breath expelled from a cow’s stomach during feeding or milking rituals, an act tied to close interaction with livestock in pastoral culture where cows are viewed not simply as animals but as sources of life, wealth, nutrition, and identity, reflecting how generations living in the harsh environments of the Omo Valley developed customs centered around their herds, turning even unusual acts into expressions of adaptation, endurance, and the intimate bond between humans and cattle within the community

BREAKING: Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shaye Moss have just sued Rudy Giuliani for making false comments about them after they won $148M from him after suing him for the first time. The two will also seek a permanent injunction to prevent Giuliani from ever speaking publicly about them again. "Defendant Giuliani's statements, coupled with his refusal to agree to refrain from continuing to make such statements, make clear that he intends to persist in his campaign of targeted defamation and harassment. It must stop," the filing reads. Liars seem to have a hard time stopping the lying.

Still one of my favourite core exercises Copenhagen Plank Raises Make them easier by performing just a static hold or place your knee on the bench Make them harder by placing your foot higher so you have the reach deeper or add a weight to your side They target your obliques, adductors and you get some lateral spine movement as well Almost everyone would benefit from these

A Chinese J-15 Carrier-Based Multirole Fighter with the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), believed to have launched from a nearby aircraft carrier during a training exercise, crashed earlier today within Lingao County on Hainan Island in the South China Sea. The pilot was able to successfully eject, before being rescued by local residents; with the crash not reported to have caused any significant damage or casualties on the ground. Videos and pictures of the incident have quickly been removed from most Chinese social media.

Turkish Leftist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker appeared to use a shock collar on his dog as it walked out of frame during a livestream, causing the dog to yelp in pain and cower away from Piker. Many have suggested that Piker is using the dog as a prop for his streams, hence using a shock collar to prevent the dog from moving during the recordings. Piker admitted using a shock collar on his dog in prior streams, describing it as "incredibly effective." In one stream, a guest noted that the shock collar was "too tight.” Piker appeared to comment on the collar itself before pausing and saying the collar was tight because of “neck meat.” Follow: AF Post

Why Hyderabad Drowns After A 20min Rain? I may not have a simple answer to this complex question but was in Raidurgam area yesterday and this what I saw. This is right next to the Raidurgam metro. It is like the IT hub of Hyderabad and look at the state of things here. Roads are being dug to lay drainage pipes. Locals told me it has been close to a year since they started digging. The debris is just lying on the road, existing drainage seems to be damaged and all the sewer is flowing on to the main road. To make things worse, many are parking right on the road making the congested area much more difficult to commute. There is no parking space at Raidurgam Metro. If someone wants to take the metro, they have to arrive on a separate vehicle to reach. Plus there are a million autos lined up on the road. Traffic police who hide behind trees or corner you in some random street won’t regulate traffic on the main roads. They won’t show a solution to park vehicles but will collect challans. Why are you collecting challans without any space being earmarked for parking? Do you expect people to jump off a parachute and get into a metro? We look at China, Japan with their advanced technology of laying roads in a day and will be wowed. Here governments talk about AI city, Future City and such money minting projects for the government and still get wowed. Why isn’t AI or advanced technology being used to repair roads, drainages or maintain infrastructure in the existing city??? Why this craze to call the existing city a dump and then pumping huge public money into a nonexistent Future City? Why is governance driven by real estate ambitions of a few politicians?

🐼 Panda diplomacy in action: China is sending two pandas to the U.S. Xi Jinping said during his meeting with Donald Trump that two giant pandas — a male named Ping Ping and a female named Fu Shuang — will arrive at Zoo Atlanta in the coming days. The Chinese leader called them “envoys of friendship.” During the talks, Xi also said the U.S. and China should avoid conflict and confrontation and maintain regular military-to-military dialogue to prevent crises. Trump, meanwhile, spoke about cooperation between the two countries and the need to work together toward a more prosperous future. Beijing also plans to invite 100,000 young Americans to China for exchange and study programs over the next five years and called for more direct flights between the two countries.

🤣🤭🤣🤣 A creative dad came up with a hilarious last-minute solution after his son's school enforced a strict "white sneakers only" rule for sports day Instead of rushing to buy expensive new shoes, he simply pulled clean white socks over the boy's black shoes to make them look like white sneakers from a distance. The funniest part is how well the trick actually worked The little boy confidently stood and moved around with his classmates while the sock-covered shoes surprisingly held up during the activities. Up close, the DIY solution becomes obvious, turning the whole situation into a wholesome and unforgettable parenting moment.

You’re on a journey on this kind of lonely road with your car and your car suddenly develops a fault, You can’t call for help and your lines can’t be reached due to network issues, what do you do? Except the car will stop and the engine won’t come up again, please reduce your speed and accelerate softly till you get to a nearby town, if it is an overheating issue, keep driving, put the gear in the neutral position and switch off the engine and let the car keep moving, switch it back on when you have to ascend a hilly road and the car can’t move freely on its own again. If the battery signal comes up while driving, chances are that your alternator has failed, or the alternator belt is damaged, apply the same method and switch off your AC, radio system or anything that may drain the battery while driving till you get to a safe place. If it is a flat tyre, maintain a low speed till you get to a safe place to change and use your spare, keep moving. Yes!!! Damage that tyre till you get to a safe place, just keep moving and make sure you have a spare tyre always and it is in a good condition. If the engine suddenly goes off on top speed, chances are that a fuse is damaged and this is why I will make a thread on how to identify different fuses and how to have them fixed temporarily in case of Emergencies. If your car jerks or experiences a lazy movement while driving, it’s likely to be a fuel related issue, fuel pump most likely, switch off the engine intermittently and put the gear in Neutral position, keep moving… if the fuel pump rests for about 5mins, it’ll pick up back when you ignite the engine, this will/may at least take you to a safe place or where you can have access to network to make calls. If you hear strange sounds like knocking sounds or the oil signal starts to blink, relax and reduce your speed, keep moving. Manage it till you get to a safe place or can have access to network. If your gear/transmission system isn’t selecting well, apply the same method, reduce your speed but keep moving, slow movement is better than no movement, your life and safety matters a lot. Please note that there are some Mechanical issues that nothing can solve on the road except patience and just to pray to God for safety and help, for example, you run into a pothole unknowingly and the oil pan hits the road and your engine or gear oil leaks away, or your ball joint or tie rod head pulls out, I’ll suggest you leave the car there, roll up your windows and lock up the car and start trekking till you get network or help, staying with the car may make you vulnerable to attacks or attract unexpected company, just keep walking away from the car for safety. Most importantly, please stay safe and be conscious of your environment. Be friendly with your Mechanic too or any Mechanic you see on the road. Don’t manage faults in cars and risk traveling with it.

🚨ROAD SAFETY & CRIME AWARENESS: CHOOSE THE RIGHT PATH As much as I advocate for road safety, I also speak against crime in our communities. To my fellow youth: please don’t use a motorcycle to snatch people’s phones, handbags, or other belongings. Crime can destroy your life in seconds. In the video below, you can see how dangerous things became when members of the public caught up with alleged offenders. Police had to intervene and rescue them from what could have been a fatal situation. The consequences don’t stop there. The people involved can face serious legal consequences, while even the company or owner who provided the motorcycle may end up counting losses. And to pedestrians, avoid using your phone while walking, especially near busy roads. Stay alert, keep your valuables secure, and be aware of your surroundings. Let’s protect our lives, our property, and our community. Crime is not a shortcut to success. Choose honest work and stay safe. 🦺🏍️📱 I advocate for road safety and a safer community for everyone.
