Deal over SALT is getting closer but not final yet. $40K cap for people making less than $500K For people making between $500K-$800K, a more modest deduction than $40K on a sliding scale. A $10K deduction for those making more than $800K w/@FoxReports

The question will be what hardliners like Roy and others demand in return — and what the speaker is willing to give. GOP Rep. Eric Burlison: “I think it's hard to justify that. The higher the SALT deduction, the more that we want to see in spending cuts elsewhere.”
