Chipper Jones on a downward plane through, not over, the centerfield wall.

More from Mr. Jones.

Keep that backside tall.

How does this translate to a game swing? Here he is using an arm push motion that he didn’t use in game. I’m not saying he didn’t attempt to swing someone like this, but in game it was more getting on plane and drive than it was a swing down through the ball. Honest question.

95% of his HRs came with the most majestic backspin you’ll ever see. He DROVE the ball, instead of “lifting/launching”.

UT brought in Don Mattingly to do a hitting clinic at Stokely Athletic Center around 86 or 87. He taught the same type of swing. A downward plane. Never have forgotten it.

We really need him back with the Braves as our hitting coach. Or maybe just so he can throw his shoe at them when they do something stupid.

@shegone03 So a career .300 hitter saying to do the opposite of what these fools teach today. Of course he only hit 468 home runs so he wasn't really a power hitter. He could have been good if he used the paddle.

Another good video for Omahogs
