Chivalry is a code of conduct for men. Women, by definition, are excluded from critiquing it—if only by virtue of the fact that they never even bothered to try creating a chivalric code for women. We cannot ignore the original context. It was birthed in an age of “patriarchy,” where men had authority, and it taught them to act nobly and restrained within that role. Take away that role and the code surrounding it loses much value. It was also developed within a Christian context. See 1 Timothy 2:12 if you want to know how women are required to relate to that context. One of the main tenets of chivalry was protecting the weak. If women want preferential treatment under chivalric code, they are required to acknowledge college their relative weakness and need for a man’s protection. Disregard that and one has no grounds to complain that you’re ineligible—you removed yourself. Finally, the specific aspects of chivalry that guided actions toward the weaker sex didn’t do so toward *all* women. It did so toward *noblewomen.* Virtually no modern woman can be accurately described as “noble.”

The entitlement is what's amazing. Where do they pick up this idea that men MUST help them? The Truth is, Nobody Owes Anybody Anything. We do things like be polite, be kind, etc because we enjoy SAFETY. And reciprocal kindness helps that. But it's not a societal imperative!
