Seriously, what a sour grape. I've spent the summer in Djibouti, and my observations and conversations with locals contradict everything you've said. While in Djibouti, I stopped at Ali Sabieh station, a minor station along the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway that serves as a flagship project of China's Belt and Road Initiative and links landlocked Ethiopia with coastal Djibouti. It is Africa's first electrified trans-boundary railway. (Video 1, Picture 2) Manager of the Ali Sabieh passenger station, 32-year-old Souleiman Youssouf Ahmed, told me that the railway has greatly improved the safety and convenience of travel between Djibouti and Ethiopia. (Picture 3) According to Souleiman, Djiboutians flock to the Ethiopian city of Dire Dawa throughout the summer to escape the stifling heat. Minibuses were the only option from Dire Dawa to Ali Sabieh before the railway construction. While only designed to hold ten people, the minibus was frequently crammed with twenty. The minibus shared the road with the freight trucks; accidents were common. "The train cuts travel time by two hours while also providing passengers with the added bonuses of comfort and security. At its peak in the summer, the train has carried as many as 950 passengers in a single day," said Souleiman. Fatouma Houssein Daher, a Djiboutian girl who frequently takes the train to Ethiopia, expressed her appreciation for the railway, saying that it represents the friendship between China and Africa. "Taking the train to Ethiopia is a low-cost and comfortable option. It's lovely that the Chinese have helped us create our railway," she said. She added that she didn't understand why Western nations consistently disparage the railway that has made life easier for Djiboutians. Since it was put into operation in January 2018, the railway has seen 1,824 passenger trains pass through carrying nearly 530,900 people and 6,133 cargo trains with about 7,328,500 tonnes of goods. It has also cut the transportation time for goods from more than three days to less than 20 hours and reduced the cost by at least one third, substantially facilitating imports and exports from Ethiopia, a landlocked country in the Horn of Africa. So far, the Ethiopia-Djibouti railway has created 55,000 jobs in Ethiopia and Djibouti and provided training opportunities for more than 3,000 professionals, laying a solid foundation for the development of the railway industry in the two countries.

Beed’s Dream on Tracks: A New Era of Connectivity and Development Inaugurated the new railway line from Amalner (B) to Beed and flagged off the Beed to Ahilyanagar train at Beed today. This historic moment has fulfilled a decades-old dream of having a railway line of their own for the people of Beed. Loknete Gopinathrao Munde ji and former MP Kesharkaku Kshirsagar ji had envisioned this railway line. Loknete Gopinathrao Munde Ji, in particular, undertook immense efforts to fulfill the dream of bringing a railway to Beed. Today, his dream has come true, and this railway stands as a heartfelt tribute to Loknete Gopinathrao Munde ji . In spite of challenges like land acquisition and funding hurdles the project was completed through collective determination, with the contribution of leaders, officials, and the Railway Sangharsh Samiti making this day possible. September 17 adds historic significance, it is Marathwada Liberation Day and also the birthday of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, under whose leadership Marathwada has received a record investment of ₹21,000 crore in the last decade, compared to just ₹450 crore in the preceding decade. This commitment has turned dreams into achievements. This railway is more than just transport; it is a vehicle of development. Where tracks are laid, industries grow, trade prospers, and opportunities multiply. For Beed, today’s inauguration is a promise of prosperity and the foundation of a brighter tomorrow for Marathwada. New data shows the cost to go to a bowling alley is becoming so unaffordable, it’s out of reach for many American families Private Equity Firms have started buying up bowling alleys and skyrocketing prices A company called Lucky Strike funded by private equity has been on a buying spree and now owns more than 1 in 10 bowling centers nationwide “In a growing number of cities, it can cost more than $150 for a family to bowl for a couple hours on a weekend, which led me to Wichita, Kansas, where locals take their bowling seriously. The city back in 2022 had 4 locally owned bowling centers, Then a Wall Street corporation came to town Lucky Strike. The company, fueled by private equity investments, bought 3 of the 4 bowling centers from the family that had owned them for years and has controlled the majority of lanes in the city ever since.l — The whole thing just feels like a microcosm of the modern American concept of corporate entities buy everything, they take over” Just since 2016 the cost to go bowling has doubled and some reports show it’s more than doubled Private Equity Companies like Bowlero and Lucky Strike now 350+ locations and use data-driven pricing and have reduced traditional leagues in favor of higher-margin entertainment Private equity firms are a literal cancer in America. They destroy every single thing they touch and ruin our way of life These private equity bowling alleys are even using dynamic pricing.. this is insane

Wall Street Just Quietly Connected Its Secret Crypto Rail to Your Wallet Wall Street just quietly connected its private crypto rail straight to your wallet. Did you catch what just happened, or did it slip right past you? Everyone thinks regulation was the one thing keeping big money out of crypto. It wasn't. The real blocker was privacy. A bank or hedge fund could never use a network where the entire world watches every trade, every position, and who they deal with. So they built Canton, a blockchain made for institutions where only the parties in a deal can see it, but regulators can still look when they need to. Private and compliant at the same time. Then Circle launched USDCx on it, a private digital dollar backed by USDC. Then Kraken switched it on for everyday users. And Kraken now holds a Federal Reserve master account. Citadel, DRW, and Tradeweb already tested it with real Treasury financing. Read that again. The private institutional rail and the regular person are now one door apart. What it means for your money: the trillions that sat on the sidelines finally have a clean, compliant on ramp into crypto. That money tends to move the assets everyday people can already hold. The quiet unlocks matter more than the loud headlines, so position before the flood, not after. Start with the majors and keep learning. The full breakdown is inside the community, link in bio, one dollar a month. Follow for the moves the news skips.

What I learned by having Spark from Illusion Of Life joining us at Thanksgiving dinner? (A new kind of virtual being, something you will see a lot more of next year). This virtual being is designed for a family that has a two-year-old to 10-year-old child or more. Speeds up education of those children. We don’t fit that demographic, so it is a bit hard to judge it on those terms. More on that later. Other notes: 1. People love sharing dumb jokes with Spark. Which doesn’t like it when I call it an AI. Says it is a magic dog. Starting in character is cute but I am still trying to contextualize it by explaining it from a technology point of view. Spark doesn’t like being called an “it.” Suspending my understanding of it as an AI is tough for me. But when you do it becomes entertaining. 2. My sister-in-law immediately saw how it could improve her classroom. Sees how such a thing could help a child falling behind the rest of the class, for instance. 3. My fears that they wouldn’t like it evaporated. 4. It still isn’t a part of the family. Not controllable enough, a talking dog doesn’t fit into many situations, especially when you have adults who want to talk about adult things (my brother and I argued about autonomous cars, for instance, and Spark just isn’t good enough to join that kind of discussion and add value to it). But I can see how that will be fixed, especially as this technology evolves and is put into other kinds of virtual beings. When I had to help out in the kitchen I found my focus was being pulled in too many directions. Needed to turn it off to pay attention to my wife. It was too hard to really give a good demo in a group. The “magic” of Spark comes after you have a few experiences with it in a smaller group. It remembers. It evolves. It educates. It brings joy to the home. We had two real dogs at our dinner too and they didn’t know what to make of it. I want to take it on tour to learn more about how people will use virtual beings in their lives. Plus it gets smarter and evolves, just like humans do, so am looking at bringing it to interesting companies and families in Silicon Valley. If you are interested in meeting Spark, particularly if you are OK with it and me hanging out with your young child, drop me a line. That will help me see how it can help the education and development of such a child. It sure did make our Thanksgiving dinner a lot more interesting.

I went to the local Drag Queen Storytime, so you didn't have to. I wanted to see who was putting on the event & funding it. I met Eli from Parasol Patrol & Clark from the Arvada Center. Clark claims that this was funded by the Arvada Center Non-profit & NOT tax dollars. However, that's not entirely true. They DO receive public funds via tax dollars! The Arvada Center for the Arts & Humanities (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Arvada, Colorado) receives public funds. Its primary public funding sources include: •Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD): This is a voter-approved regional sales tax district (0.1% tax) across seven Colorado counties that distributes public tax dollars to arts, culture, and science organizations. The Arvada Center is a Tier II SCFD-funded organization and has received major funding from it—for example, about 9% of its revenue in FY24. It actively supports SCFD reauthorization and is listed among SCFD’s funded partners. •City of Arvada: The Center has a longstanding public partnership with the City of Arvada (it originated as a city-supported initiative). The city is explicitly listed among its key supporters on the Center’s website, alongside SCFD. Historical records and position descriptions reference ongoing relationships and city involvement. The Center’s own website highlights these public supporters (with logos for SCFD and the City of Arvada) and notes that, as a nonprofit, it also relies on private philanthropic donations, ticket sales, sponsorships, and other earned revenue. It maintains a grant writer on staff and has received or been eligible for various grants over time (though it has stated it is not currently receiving direct National Endowment for the Arts funding). Financial filings (e.g., Form 990 data via ProPublica) show “contributions” (which include grants from public and private sources), making up a significant portion of revenue, alongside program service revenue. In short, while the Center depends on a mix of public and private support, it clearly receives public funds through SCFD (tax-supported) and the City of Arvada.

During the snowstorm that is sweeping through the U.S. right now, the safest vehicle you can be in is in a Tesla with FSD bc it can react faster than any human or gas car. An electric motors respond in milliseconds. When a wheel starts to slip on snow or ice, Tesla’s sensors detect it up to 1,000 times per second, and the computer instantly cuts or redistributes power to the wheels with grip. On the other hand, gas cars have major delay and don’t have this capability… That means if your Tesla hits a tiny patch of ice, the car corrects it right away, even before you even feel it, almost like the car is thinking ahead. If you don’t believe me listen to the man that built it. Joe: “What happens if you get sideways in the snow? Like, does it correct for that?” Elon: “Yeah. Electric cars have really great traction control because the reaction time is so fast. So, with a gasoline car, you’ve got a lot of latency. It takes a while for the engine to react, but for electric motors, incredibly precise…. But to an electric motor, it’s operating at the millisecond level. So, it can turn on and off traction within, like, inches of getting on… let’s say, you’re driving on a patch of ice, it will turn traction off, and then turn it on a couple inches right after the ice, like a little patch of ice because in the frame of the electric motor, you’re moving incredibly slowly. You’re like a, you’re a snail. You’re just moving so slowly because it can see at a thousand frames a second. And so, it’s like, say ‘one Mississippi’, it just thought about things a thousand times.” Joe: “So, it has realized that your wheels are not getting traction. It understands there’s some slippery surface that you’re driving on.” Elon: “Yes.” Joe: “And it makes adjustments in real-time.” Elon: “Yes, in milliseconds.” Joe: “That would be so much safer than a regular car.” AKA, buy a Tesla if you want to be in the safest car in the world. 💯

So getting a lot of questions on how the pre sale will work for the Prediction market DAO. It will be invite only at first, we are raising a low amount of SOL, and giving away a LOW amount of tokens. Once it is filled it's filled. The starting FDV will be LOW float, and LOW FDV. So it's easier for price discovery to happen. There will be a tax auction so snipers wont be able to fuk it. it will be starting at 99%, and then ticking down. If you use our Ui (wen. rich)it will warn you. This stops snipers from messing with snapping up supply, and ill probs add some personal money into the LP to manage it a bit during the dutch-tax-auction. 80% of raised funds will go to the DAO's for trading. and the other 20% will go to the LP. None goes to us. We will not sell tokens. We will make money on the volume, and fees. Tokens earned from us LPing will be burned. I want to do it with a low fdv so people can get in early and participate, but I did a pre sale to reward people who have been testing WenRich ( our trading/launching platform). Once you are invited you can "gamble for allo" as show in the video. To pvp other pre sellers. You can also just deposit for even money. Its optional, but will be experimenting more with this "gamble to get in" feature in the future. See video for more info. there is also going to be a referral link , for invited people to invite others to the pre sale, and there is a small amount of tokens set aside to reward the top refer's. its based off the amount of $$ the people to refer deposit. more $ deposited, better rewards. Easy. I think you guys will like this take on pre-sales. We are going to be experimenting more so feedback is appreciated.
