Let's hope common sense prevails! "Big Red" has become a symbol of what they can do to Canadians. This is not the country I was born and raised in.

'That's nuts': Ezra Levant rips 'out of control prosecutors' seeking multi-year prison sentence for Tamara Lich Crown prosecutors are seeking a seven-year prison sentence for Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Lich after she was found guilty of mischief for her role in organizing the peaceful anti-mandate protests in 2022. On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Ezra recounted the anti-mandate Freedom Convoy protests of early 2022 and questioned why prosecutors are seeking a seven-year prison sentence for Tamara Lich. Lich was previously convicted of mischief over her role as an organizer of the peaceful protests in Ottawa against COVID-19 public health orders and vaccine mandates that took place in late January and early February 2022. Fellow convoy organizer Chris Barber is facing a possible eight-year prison term for his role in the demonstrations. Ezra condemned the Crown prosecutors for seeking such severe sentences for non-violent individuals like Lich and Barber. "That's nuts. That is not lawful. That is not precedent following. That is punitive. That's a vendetta. That's out of control prosecutors," he said. Ottawa police previously noted that crime in the city's downtown core actually went down during the peaceful Freedom Convoy protests. Ezra also questioned why the Canadian justice system is focusing on Lich and Barber when horrific acts of violence are being committed on a daily basis. "We are in a country ... where a 14-year-old boy murders a woman at random, and I say that because although he hasn't been convicted yet, he went on a live stream and confessed it," he said. "Tamara Lich already did 49 days in prison without bail for mischief." Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre denounced the Crown's decision to seek multi-year prison sentences for Lich and Barber in a post on social media Monday afternoon.
