I had a debate this morning about religion and the State here on Twitter. Some claimed that the American founding fathers were deeply Christian; someone even called them Prayer Warriors. What defines a Christian? Can one simply call oneself a Christian without adhering to Jesus’ teachings and values, or must one live by those Christian values to truly be considered a Christian? Did these founding fathers live by Christian values, or are slavery and white supremacy considered Christian values? I have shared a video below of white supremacists in South Africa from two documentary films by Nick Broomfield. The apartheid regime was purportedly rooted in Christianity, but was there anything genuinely Christian about it? How did the key apartheid actors treat black South Africans, and did they view themselves as God’s chosen ones? Was that racist view Christian? Many Black Africans simply regurgitate what they were taught in Sunday school without applying critical thinking because we are victims of colonial education, which aimed to train Black clerks rather than serious thinkers. It saddens me to see Black people in 2024 justifying slavery and even quoting the Old Testament while doing so. We need to address this embarrassing ignorance! How can one quote the Old Testament to justify a human rights violation in the name of Christianity? Those responsible for many atrocities throughout history often identify as Christians to whitewash their deplorable behaviour. But can they truly be considered Christians when their lives and actions are detached from Christian values? While self-identification is one aspect of being Christian, living according to Christian values and principles is integral. Without that, one cannot truly be considered a Christian. How can the violation of human rights be justified simply because those responsible claim to be Christians? Is the Zimbabwean government, which fails to provide even paracetamol and jails and kills its opponents, acting in a Christian manner? Why not when your basis of being a Christian is self identification, Mnangagwa and his regime say they are Christian?

Yall gone hear me one day. Black turnout exceeded white turnout in Louisiana’s May election. Black voters are 31% of registered voters, but made up 34% of the people who showed up. I was on here every day telling y’all to vote because this is what happens when Black people participate at higher rates. We influence elections the same way we influence culture. Jeff Landry lost all 5 constitutional amendments. Even in Republican parishes, voters rejected his agenda. Never underestimate the power of informed, organized Black voters. And to be clear, this happened while Black folks are underfunded in this work in Louisiana. One thing the record will always show is, I did my part. Share if you care 🦾

This black man who thinks he’s a woman just called black people who work at Fox “MAGA slaves.” And the actual black woman on the panel laughed at it. Black liberals are the ones with a slave mentality. They live in a world where black Americans HAVE TO think one way; otherwise, they’re “house boys,” “Uncle Tom’s,” or worse. There’s no liberty or freedom of thought there. What this person is saying is that white people get to work at Fox, and they get to work at CNN. They get to do whatever. But black people only get to work at CNN. Just like they only get to vote Democrat. Otherwise, they have internalized white supremacy. It’s the same song and dance for women. It’s limiting—not freeing.

“The black community was at its strongest economically while being segregated.” This is true. In the 1930s to 1960s, when actual legal racism existed, most black children grew up in a two-parent home. Black marriage rates at the time actually trumped white marriage rates. Now, with all the progress we’ve made, 75% of black children grow up without a father, and black women today have a lower marriage rate than black men and than white women. So the answer to all the black community’s problems CANNOT be “systemic racism,” if they were doing better back when racism was more prevalent and was actually written into laws.

The MOST bad ass thing about the help NC is getting is that the teams doing the real work are totally self sufficient. This crew has damn farm machinery in front to clear any path issues they face. They are going to get these supplies to stranded folks come hell or high water.
