I see this all the time when I am out and about in the winter, the patent is bundled up and the kid isn’t. Sometimes it’s even as bad as the kid is wearing just a t-shirt. If my kid didn’t have a jacket and I was low on funds I would go without before my kid didn’t have a jacket. Worst comes to worst if I had to get one from a thrift store I would do that too, anything for my kid not to go cold like that. This woman was criticized because she refused to spend $35 for a coat for her kid in the winter. She thinks it’s too expensive. Last winter my kid came home from school in a jacket I didn’t buy him. He already has a few really nice and warm jackets that he picked out at the Polo store. But I guess the school had a program that gave new coats to every child. Was I wrong for this? I made him return it because he didn’t need it. I feel like the coat they gave him could have went to a child that actually needed it. He was fine with it because it wasn’t a brand he normally wears anyways. But I think the school should have been more selective about who they gave these coats too. There are kids out there that go without and could benefit, but my kid isn’t one of them. Am I a jerk for that? I feel like he wasn’t going to wear it anyways and I see other kids at his school that didn’t have coats.

For me it was the equivalent to the smelly kid or the one who soiled his pants at school, it was that bad. Regardless of the method, I think we can all agree that behavior like this is getting more and more common and shouldn’t be tolerated. Either way, what would you think is the solution for this? Without the love of Christ, I would have committed suicide after losing $10M in months... here's the story I didn't talk about this in the first video, because it's honestly too painful, but there was one day I almost ended my life, even while believing God is real. I yelled at him and told him I hated the world he created while I was driving to find a cliff to jump from. I'm not married, I don't have kids, that $10M portfolio was what I was building with my life. I had three siblings working for me and I had to let all three go, leaving over half my family jobless. So it felt like I had lost everything, let everyone I cared for down, and life was meaningless. But Jesus showed me his love like I never had felt before in one of my weakest moments, the desire to kill myself went away COMPLETELY in a split second and I broke down in tears. The feeling was like being hugged by all my loved ones at once. My old Christian missionary parents told me later that they had started praying for me at that exact moment, "The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." I now know that this is only the beginning. My faith was once a largely intellectual faith, now it is also visceral, raw, emotional, and I am full of the joy of my salvation in an indescribable way, even despite my circumstances. If I wanted to take my own life on my own, but Jesus saved me, the rest of my life belongs to Him in every way. I started crying even now as I write this, thinking back on that day. How hopeless I felt before I felt the presence and love of Jesus. No I won't be perfect going forward, but my Savior is perfect and his power is made perfect in our weakness. I would only blame myself if someone kept taking food off of my plate and eating it. It’s because I didn’t set clear boundaries at all. To be honest I couldn’t even be mad about this because it would be my fault this even happened. But you know very well I’m going to learn my lesson. She obviously is very comfortable doing this, he doesn’t seem to be firm about not letting her do it, the only one he can be mad at is himself. I think he will think twice about continuing to let her get away with it. Years ago, my brother used to do this to me and when I confronted him he laughed but he never stopped doing it, it got old really quick, I was annoyed because it felt like a bullying tactic. It got to the point one day that i had had enough, I made my plate and I dumped a bunch of salt into it knowing he was going to try to eat my food. After one bite he spit it out and he learned his lesson. He never did it again. But he still got mad I did it. Personally I think he was more mad he got caught if anything. I think a simple solution is to double order, that way if someone eats all my food I still have a back up, that could work right? But a part of me feels like that shouldn’t even be necessary. What would you do if someone kept eating off your plate? Would you put your foot down or just stay silent in hopes they don’t do it again. I think I am going to start just smoking more meat on the grill and keeping that up. I always make so much and if people wanna have some I still have plenty.

Even though I was baptised Catholic as a baby, I grew up in an atheist household. In retrospect, the grace of Jesus in my life has been undeniable. He has never failed me. Not once. However, I was not always aware of it, unfortunately. Therefore, I behaved accordingly. One year ago, at one of the lowest moments of my life, I completely surrendered to Him. I was confused, lost, scared, and anxious. But He was there, waiting for me. Since then, my faith has been proven in the most bittersweet ways. But just as He didn’t allow Peter to drown, He didn’t allow me to do so. Since I have use of memory, I’ve been in fight-or-flight mode. But He allowed me to relax, to embrace uncertainty, to lose control, to finally be a happy, excited, spoiled kid. Today, after visiting all the places where He walked, taught, lived, and died, I made it to the Jordan River, where He was baptised. My idea was to rent a gown, pay a priest, and get baptised as a Catholic at the very same place where my Lord, Jesus Christ, was baptised. But He wanted to remind me that I am not in control of my life: He is. So it was all closed and empty. No gowns, no priests. He is always there for me, though. So He made my baptism even more magical. I know it is symbolic since I was already baptised. But this is a personal reminder that I am a child of God, that He forgave me, that He is my God and my Lord and my Saviour, that He died for us. And just as He rose from death, I was reborn. With the only purpose to follow Him, to honour Him, and to live for Him. I could have waited and come back another time in the future. But life is short and we need to make Heaven crowded. Thank you, Jesus.
