This racial questioning/innuendo has become the new normal especially in the tennis community. Ben Shelton should be allowed to savor his accomplishment not because he's mixed race (half black, half white) but because of his obvious talent. With the exception of Taylor Townsend (sponsored by Ben Crump) the majority of black tennis players on tour today refuse to go low especially since the door has been open now for decades. Most are choosing to accept their much deserved accoyed(s) based on their performance on the tennis court not because of the color of their skin. It was players like Gibson, Ashe, Noah, Garrison, McNeil, Rubin and of the course the Williams sisters that broke down those barriers not that same handful of players still complaining today all the while taking their hefty checks all the way to the bank. Welcoming race baiting agitators like Ben Crump into the tennis family will only serve to create more division and ridicule. Please let sports be sports.
